I fitted a Power Brake conversion kit to Bulldog shortly after purchasing Bulldog, the brakes were an immediate improvemnt and well worth the money spent. It is important to run the brakes in as per PB's instructions.

The alternator should provide minimum of ±13.1v when engine is at idle, if not, then it is faulty. Midas should be able to assist you there.

More than likely the voltage regulator has died. Replace it and maybe check the alternator bearings as well. One assumes you have checked that the cables around the alternator are tight and in good condition?

Jou radio is Midband (66-88MHz), hulle sal ongelukkig nie op die ORRA frekwensies werk nie. Jou VHF (Hoeband) radios sal ook nie met die PT8100 kan werk nie.

Die PT8100 radio is beskikbaar vir 66-88, of VHF (137-174MHz) of UHF (400MHz), maar hulle is drie verskillende modelle.

Of miskien hier. Hierdie is 'n Motorola radio maar in Hound Dog het ek 'n Kenwood TK7100 in dieselfde plek gemount, ongelukkig het nie 'n foto van dit nie.

I find it strange that a 2009 model is fitted with a 5L engine, these were abandoned some years ago in favour of the KZTE engine, which was a vast improvement in terms of performance and reliability compared to the 5L. Looks like it has had a suspension/body lift as well.

Taking a fling here, but any motor other than the original unfortunately does devalue a 'Lux, so I'm guessing about R45k would be a going price.

Sorry, only saw this post now. Pretty much dead nowadays, although there are scattered groups here & there still using CB radios. A major problem is that new VHF radios cost the same - and sometimes less - than new CB radios and of course the reliable distances obtained by a VHF radio system compare...

Pieter, welcome to the forum. It would seem that one opf the new fuses is no longer working or making proper contact. Best is to check this fuse with a digital multimeter set to the 'ohms' or even 'diode' scale, it should of course read a dead short. I had the same issue with a gate motor, the blade...

EFI conversion on a 4Y makes an incredible improvement - the engine has more torque and constant down-gearing on hills is a thing of the past. Will still be no racer when towing a caravan though, but who cares? You have the perfect combo for touring and admiring the scenery.

This is correct: "These days if the engine was redone and the head was done properly, ie, valve stem seals there is no need for an additive to the fuel. Reason, valve stem seals these days are made for unleaded fuel in any case. Just use normal unleaded 95 in the Lowveld and up here in Gauteng 93 un...

Not ideal, no. But measure the output voltage at the second battery while it is charging to satisfy yourself. If you have enough 2mm wire, then at the very least double up so you then have 4mm cable.

If Powerbrakes still stock the SFA kit, it is a worthwhile investment. They make a huge difference! One of the best mods I have fitted to Bulldog.
