Intercooler conversion

Want to ask, I have a 2009 Toyota Fortuner 3.0d4d 4x4. What difference would I experience if I go for the intercooler conversion.? Is it worth spending the money and does your radiator and aircon radiator not suffer due to the extra radiator in front of them?

My klein 4x4 gear lever vibreer n moerse hou as ek op lae revs ratte wissel. Onder n 1500rpm. Enige idees wat dit kan wees. Toyota se hulle weet nie en reken dis nie iets om oor bekomerd te wees nie.

Does your car have an aftermarket bumper of spotlights on?

And these bonnet guards?
None of the above except for spot lights, but it started doing it before I fitted the spotlights.

Re: RE: Re: Fortuner 3.0 D4D overheating

Marius do speak to Isak at Dynotech. Pretty sure he will let you know what's what after a dyno run. If you want to monitor it yourself - get an EGT gauge. It even shows the minor rise in exhaust temperature when you get a head wind. YES, first prize is to check the airflow into the engine bay, and ...

Re: RE: Re: Fortuner 3.0 D4D overheating

Like I said before regarding the AC, the ECU monitors the engine temperature. As soon as this goes outside the set parameter it cuts the AC if it was on. This then removes the heat source in front of the radiator and removes a couple of kilowatt of strain from the engine. That makes perfect sense t...

Thabogrobler wrote:What mileage has the car done?

Radiator might be blocked, waterpump corroded, airflow blocked??

Is the car chipped? If so which chip?

Re: RE: Re: Fortuner 3.0 D4D overheating

Regarding your aircon, when the engine temperature reaches a certain point it will cut the aircon in an attempt to cool the engine down automatically. Do you have auto box or manual? Do you have big spots on the front or any other aftermarket goodies that obstruct the air flow. It is a manual and y...

Fortuner 3.0 D consumption

I have relocated from Cape Town to Johannesburg. My Fortuner seems to be giving me much less on fuel than in Cape Town. Is there something I can do about it?
