Re: 2002 IFS S/C 2,7i Electrical Problems
After getting the hang of the wiring diagrams, I traced power to the Plug 1J on the rear of the Fuse unit under RHS side of dash. If I bridge across the output - incoming B-Y to outgoing B-Y, everything works. It appears that the Integration Relay is faulty. My understanding is that it puts logic to...

2002 IFS S/C 2,7i Electrical Problems
We camped close to the sea for a few months and the Hilux was stationary with the Camper on it. It got very wet with sea mist running down all over most evenings. The central locking has stopped working as has the clock, radio, alarm indication, dome light. The engines goes like a dream, lights work...

Re: Let's talk earthing...
If you have poor earthing and depress the clutch when starting you will eventually destroy your release bearing. The earth current will always find the path of least resistance and cause some carboning up where it travels which will eventually let you down at the worst possible moment, in accordance...

Check that it's not deposit from your battery. There is normally a breather pipe on the battery which allows the battery to vent low down. Maybe this vent pipe is missing.

Tyrewatch TPMS Internal Sensors
I have been having a look for TPMS System with internal sensors. TYrewatch are sold by Errol's Tyres.
I notice that they are also sold in the UK & Australia.
Does anyone have experience of these or is there a better option in terms of make of TPMS ?
Feedback would be appreciated.

We get LM Radio on 104FM here in Ladybrand, broadcasting from Maseru.
If travelling on the R26 between Ficksburg & Hobhouse or N8 up to Tweespruit depending on weather conditions reception is good.

Slag off the adjuster and then use 2 M8 bolts about 80mm long in the holes provided on the drum and turn the bolts that it move the drum away. Had a problem with one drum and the 2x 8mm bolts did the job. Also learnt that the adjusters work the same on both sides and not opposite as with some other...

We are 20km by road and quite hilly from Maseru.
We can normally get reception just past Tweespruit on the N8 and close to Ficksburg and Wepener on the R26.
What a pleasure.

Rod - I agree with your suggestions.
To get the ride height correct when loaded, I have a short length of dowel stick with a piece of tape wrapped around it to give me the minimum distance between rim and wheel arch. I find it quicker than hauling out a tape every time.

Re: Air helpers; do they help??
I agree with Pieter. When I had the Prado, I weighed everything that went into the vehicle & onto the roofrack to ensure that I was not overloaded. I will be doing the same with the Hilux, knowing what the Canopy Caravan weighs to avoid overloading. I am certain that there will be items that are...

Re: Air helpers; do they help??
I had Firestone Airsprings on my Prado for 7 years and they were great, especially when fully loaded for long trips. I have fitted Firestone Airsprings to my Hilux and they make a big difference when I mount the Canopy caravan. When lightly loaded they do soften the rear end a bit which makes for mo...

Hi Andre - this is a Canopy Caravan. You can find info on their website.
There are quite a few different manufacturers around who sell similar units.
The arthritis has caught up with me and pitching tents is no longer enjoyable, so I was fortunate to get this combo from friends here in Ladybrand.

Hi Johan - yes, after initially reading your thread, I asked for the same kit which you have got. My air springs just fit between the chassis and spring pack. In fact I had to compress them a bit to get them into place. The distance between the chassis and spring pack is 215mm and not 300+ as with o...

I have fitted Airsprings to compensate for the load of the Canopy Caravan on my Single cab. Part number - LS5062. I have found the best method to free a sticky key / lock is to sprinkle graphite powder on the key and if possible into the keyhole. Any liquid leaves a residue which dust sticks to.
You should be able to get the graphite powder from a locksmith.
