Re: Broken glow plug elements... :(
Thanks for the reply Scott. Can you expand on "tap/alan key/youtube"? I've tried searching youtube but must be searching / finding the wrong results. The garages around here are so bad that if I bring it in for anything, I'll be taking it in again for 4 more new problems over the next week...

Re: Broken glow plug elements... :(
Interesting about the Coca cola, thanks. I have doubts I can find a screw extractor here (it took me 30 minutes earlier today just to find a deep 12mm socket). But, conveniently the broken part of the heating elements that I can see is hollow, and I did manage to screw into one of them. I haven't tr...

Re: Broken glow plug elements... :(
The attached picture shows almost what I am dealing with - with one big difference, that the threaded part is completely removed in my case. Just the heating element part of the glow plug remains stuck, and a little of that is exposed so I can get some very small pliers on it.

Re: Broken glow plug elements... :(
Thanks, but the broken elements are still whole (besides the broken part that attached to the threaded / wiring part of the plug. They seem to be wedged in and stuck very tightly in the glow plug hole.

Broken glow plug elements... :(
Hi everyone, After posting about my hard to start 2l-t Hilux last month, I finally had a chance to test the glow plugs... Not surprisingly, they are not well. I got two of them out just fine, but for the final two the elements broke off. Actually, given how easily the broken two came out, I believe ...

Starting 2L-T Engine
Hi, My truck is a 1998 Toyota Hilux, with a 2L-T engine. I usually have to crank the engine over for about ~5-10 seconds to start the truck in morning. The temp in the morning is usually 25-30C already, so it's not very cold. ;) After it's up to operating temperature, it will start after cranking fo...

1998 Hilux Tiger
Hi folks, this is my 1998 (as far as I can tell!) Hilux with the 2.4l 2l-t. I bought it about 3 weeks ago, and have spent more time fixing it than playing so far... But I think most of the work is done now. For now. ;)
The other two are my wife and my dog ;).
Cheers

Hi folks... New Hilux owner from Cambodia
Hello everyone :)
I'm a new owner of a 1998 Hilux Tiger. Dual cab, 2LT 2.4, 4x4. The truck seems to be a patched up mix of parts, so hopefully some of you can help me out with some questions. ;) I will lot course help and offer advice where I can.
Will post some pics soon.
Cheers
