Re: Botswana/Namibia/Zimbabwe Trip September 2013

Wayne, I have just got back from Zim....stay next to the river. The rest is a waste of time. The animals are in protectect areas, next to the Lake and next to the river. Fishing and the falls are always good. If you want to do the Hunters road September is a good time....no rain. I would ask the guy...

Road east of Kariba

Guys,
Has anyone recently travelled on the road on the eastern side of Kariba. It runs from Cross roads, Milbizi, Binga, Siabuwa and up to Kariba town. I am going up in December and would like to travel that way if it is possible.

Did you know that we still have a major problem with Lion and Elelephant poaching. Some say that because they have so many Elephants in the Kruger it is not all bad but the Lions are in trouble becausae of TB and a general unhealthy breeding pool. Details are not communicated for obvious reasons.

Deane, No to Sendlingsdrift. You get hold of the Namakwa tourist people in Pofadder, and pay them. (R150 ...it took us 4 days) The route starts just ouside Pofadder near a small town called Pella. Nice trip I'll do it again....First you have to go to Riemvasmaak, that is also very lekker.
