Good morning all. I have a 2008 fortuner 4.0 V6 automatic. I got stuck halfway going up a dune and the vehicle stalled. I have never came across this before, where do i start looking?

TRACTION CONTROL FAULTY
Hello there
I spent the weekend playing around in the dunes. As usual I switch off the traction control and vehicle stability control off. The traction control light is now constantly on . Did anyone else had this issue? and what should I look out for?

Hello there! There is a whining noise from the front wheels(i assume) of my bakkie. (the sound is similar to that of a unlubricated fan belt ). It starts from 40km/h and increases with the vehicle speed. I am suspecting front wheel bearings or what can it be? . Vehicle 4.0 V6 4x4 2015 model thanks f...

Alex, the terrain and dunes will dictate what you use but having seen om most dune trips Highrange is usually the range of choice and with the power of the 4.0V6 you should just keep in mind to manual select the gears like leaving it in 3rd gear which will allow it only to go up to 3rd gear as the ...

Eish Alex! There's off-road and there's off-road .... then there's also off-road. :D: The nature of the terrain / obstacle will really determine the gearing - there are sand tracks that you can drive in H4 using 3rd and even 4th gear and then there are sand tracks that will need L4 as low as 2nd ge...

Just blow it out with compressed air - you can also give the element a good blow out as well if it's not that bad that it needs replacement, Tip - pull an old stocking over the snorkel head when you're driving in dusty / sandy conditions. :winkx: Great, thank you Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
