Remove the seat and cut the hook off at 40mm as pictured. When I did mine I cut it on an angle so it would be guided back into position.

Make sure ya have the battery disconnected for a good ten minutes b4 ya fiddle with any airbag wires. Wouldn't want an airbag goin off in ya face!! It hurts![emoji6]

They'll be able to look up you chassis number an see if it's done b4. If it hasn't they'll do it free otherwise get a clock spring on ebay and do it yourself.

The old rubber boot should go around the base of the globe once ya remove the heatsink. They are designed to be rotated so the leds are pointing at the rite part of the reflector.

Very common problem mate. It'll be the airbag clock spring in the back of the steering wheel. As I said it's very common, toyota did a recall on them years ago.

Crc make a dedicated maf sensor cleaner. Do NOT try and clean it with a cotton tip! The hot wires in there are very easily damaged! Simply remove it and all it takes is a few good blasts with the correct solvent, electrical contact cleaner can be use or anything that doesn't leave any residue. Also ...

My last lux had the kz motor and had close to 500k on it when I sold it. Just look for something with a solid service history, oil and filters every 5k and she'll go forever.

Sure the shudder wasn't there b4 being masked by the old dodgy clutch? Had a suspension lift at all? Very common to get a little shudder from a lift due to tailshaft misalignment.

I reckon ya went a bit overboard with it all just to drill a hole! If you are cutting or welding then yes do all that but drilling nah! Just plenty of cutting fluid or even just grease where ya drilling to keep the bit cool and catch the shavings would be fine.

We take it very seriously here in aus! Secondary fuel filter is a must for us or anyone living in or traveling to remote areas. Any modern common rail diesel that runs an egr will greatly benefit from a catch can and having the egr blocked off or disconnected.

Definitely use a genuine crank seal! I last time I did my clutch only because of the ks and the main seal was leaking. Lasted about a month b4 I had it all apart again because I put a cheaper seal in it. Lesson learned!! If its been slipping that bad that you can't select gears then I'd say definite...

The add system is known for getting water in it and playing up. Though if it's doing it only since toyota had the box out then I'd bet they left a plug off the transfer case. Not sure which one it is but there is one to tell the 4x4 ecu that 4wd has been selected and it then enguages the front diff....

There's a guy here in aus that reconditions them. Replacing the reg/rec so its not temperature controlled anymore and replaces the dodgy one way pulley with a solid one and all at a fraction of the cost of a new unit.

How long is a piece of string? Too many factors come into play. If it's collapsed bad enough to bust the brakes ya may have damaged the shaft but ya wont know till ya pull it down. I'm in Australia mate! If you want sliding windows you want the cheaper classic canopy. Very basic, one small light above the rear window. Dust proof and water proof, well that depends on the fitter! You can buy a vent to put in the top of them to pressurize the canopy to help keep the dust out. Car...

Yep very stupid idea! I cleaned mine at 190k and you'd be lucky to stick a pencil through the inlet ports, thats how blocked it was! Fitting a catch can to the engine breather and blocking the egr is the go!

Sorry mate not 100% sure on one that old, my knowledge extends to 05. The very early 1kd motors could be blocked fully with no hassle. Was only later when the computer started to read egr flow. I have my 1kd blocked and it definitely helps with bottom end power by helping keep the turbo spooled up. ...

Depends on the year mate! The early lux could be fully blocked but the later one's need a 7mm hole in the plate so the computer still sees gas flow. On the newer ones you can even get the egr turned off thru the computer.
