At 18h00 I left the office. on the freeway there was a sudden loss of power. then lights on the dash started dying...even the driving ligths started fading. I was able to reach home. but now it is completely dead. any ideas...

Left rear brake bonding/catching

Guys I am desperate for a solution. 5000km ago I had my 2002 hilux' rear brakes skimmed and bonded. Since this the left rear brake keeps engaging on its own. At times the engine has to labour to keep ongoing and when you stop and touch the rim it is piping hot, the drum you cant even touch. When it ...

QUICK TEST OF OPNION - A/T Tyres

Hi guys, I have to make a choice: I can have 15" Good Year Wrangler ATSA fitted for R1341.00/each all and all or 15" Bridgestone D697 fitted for R1570.00 all and all. What do you think: I spend 90% on road, got almost 100000km out of my previous D694. Is the extra R1000 worth for more mile...

Re: Replacing clutch

I had similiar whine on my gearbox after an overall was done on it. Mechanic in Aliwal North checked it out and said that gearbox oil was low due to the seal between gearbox and transfer case that let the oil through to the transfer case. Had it repaired by the okes who did the overall, and they con...

The gears has stripped. It definitely receives the signal. Only place I could find is autostyle, but that is an entire kit. Seems like the Stealers are the only option.

Land Rover Special......

Ek weet..... Ek weet ons spot altyd met die LR's maar dit werk net nie as jy Hilux in die plek van LR sit nie..... They say 90% of all Land Rovers manufactured is still on the road. The other 10% have reached their destination. All Land Rovers are like women - They moan on long journey's, embarrass ...

Re: 300D Hilux 4x4 raad gevra

Lyk my al...

Apparently an intercooler does not help for a cooler running engine, the opposite happens. Due to the air entering the engine being cooler, it is has a higher density and therefor burns better and hotter...

I travelled alot on the R21 and these zim trucks are barely road worthy and most of the time overloaded. Its time that they are kept off our roads, not only do they bugger up the roads, they endanger lives.... Swambo's colleague's mother swerved out of the way when this truck came hurtling down the ...

Re: Interest in Tracking Device?

Seems like a good one. My insurance informed me that a tracking device from any of the mainstream suplliers will not benefit my insurance premium.

But still, if I am doing upgrades to my vehicle I would like to get it back somehow.

So yes I am definitely interested.

Power steering in wet weather

Hi Guys, I had interesting/worrying experience today. After the large amount of rain Pretoria had, I played a bit in a few puddles next to the road. And then it happened, my power steering was gone and it shuddered when I turned the wheel (similar to turning with a flat). After a few seconds it was ...

Good day, I have 2002 Hilux 3.0 D- E and my 15" rims (6JJ) are not looking good. I am really keen on getting the 2005-2007 hilux models 15" to fit on my Hilux. According to a second hand rim dealer the newer rims has a different offset than my current ones. Thus my tyres will be more under...
