Key remote not working
Hi There.
I have a 2007 Tuner. I've recently replaced the starter motor. Since doing so, the key remote isn't working. The central locking works if you insert the key into the door and turn manually. I've tried the spare key and it also has the same problem.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Diesel injector cleaner
Hi Gents I've read a few posts relating to diesel injector cleaners. Some seem to be conflicting. Firstly, my injectors seem to be fine at this point. I would just like to keep them that way for as long as possible, so i'm looking at it from a preventative maintenance point of view. Some say that th...

Re: Main shaft needle bearing - PLEASE HELP!
If you are not in a huge hurry, you can order it online. Example: http://toyotaoriginal.com/genuine-toyota/genuine-toyota-bearing-needle-90364t0012/ Thanks, I saw that site. Does anyone have experience using it? A local supplier got back to me, they have might have, but only available in January. F...

Main shaft needle bearing - PLEASE HELP!
Hi Guys. The needle bearing, on the main shaft, between 3rd and 4th, part number 90364T0012, needs to be replaced. Its an agents only bearing, and the agents told me that its been discontinued. The last thing I want to do is troll through scrap yards to find an old gearbox. Any advice would be appre...

2005 SRX gearbox - dead
Hi All
So it turns out that the main gearbox of my lux has one or more teeth broken . First indicative cost given is R14k (excluding stripping the box out the vehicle).
Does anyone have similar experience? Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Rattle on front wheel
Checked the wheel bearings... no problems there.
As an experiment, I replicated the issue... only this time in 4x4 mode. Seemed to be gone. Put it back in 4x2, and it was back again.

Rattle on front wheel
Hi Guys. I've had to mothball my Lux  I've had it for about 3 months now. In the last 6 weeks, I've become aware of a vibration/grinding noise at high speed. It seems to be on the front right wheel. It only happens under very specific conditions, which are: Traveling over 100km/p about at 10-15...

LED light on bumper
Hi Guys. This weekend I did a trip through the baviaanskloof with the recent addition to my family, the Hilux. The vehicle was great... although I didn't have to engage 4x4 once. On the way in, it was dark. I though it was the perfect time to make use of the LED light on the bumper. I put it on, but...

Re: New owner of Hilux 2.5 SRX D4D 4x4
So after a week of having the vehicle, the problem has disappeared. The previous owner said that he had the problem for some time. After giving it some thought, I actually think that the vehicle has not had 4x4 mode engaged for years. After a week of having it, I have engaged it plenty and the probl...

Re: Ultrafine Depth Filtration
I believe the UDF filters are quite expensive. I Installed a Racor 2 micron filter after the OEM filter when I installed new injectors. Obvioulsy I could not discern any difference in performance and one will only know in the long run if the Racor filter made a difference. I did about 280 000 ks on...

Ultrafine Depth Filtration
Hi Guys.
Does anyone have experience with the UDF filtration devices?
Considering fitting one to my 2005 model 2.5 D4D. The main reason is to save the injectors. Would appreciate any feedback if someone has fitted one.

Re: Drivetrain for 2.5 and 3.0 D4D
Dean, out of interest: how old (kilos) is your bakkie? Did you do anything else to it after you had it chiped (eg. service, change exhaust, tires, etc.) Hi Pieta The mileage is about 265k and a 2005 model. I also had the cat removed and replaced the exhaust. The vehicle just had a service. I have j...

Drivetrain for 2.5 and 3.0 D4D
Hi.
I just had my 2.5 D4D chipped by SAC. It's made a huge difference.
Was just wondering... do the 2.5 and 3.0 D4D bakkies have the same drive trains? Will the power and torque increase put enough extra strain on the system to significantly reduce the life?

Re: New owner of Hilux 2.5 SRX D4D 4x4
Andy Are you not confusing 4x4 selection with diff-lock selection? Then again perhaps Dean also is? The diff-lock will only engage in 4L if the bakkie is unmodified. In 2H and 4H the difflock light will flash if you have pressed the diff-lock button but will not engage. Definitely not confusing 4x4...

Re: New owner of Hilux 2.5 SRX D4D 4x4
I think you meant 2H to 4H Pieta. It flickers if you select 4x4 but there is a problem engaging. As you are in 4x2 there should be a "problem" engaging 4x4 as you did not actually select 4x4. i.e. the 4x4 controller is thinking that it should be going into 4x4 but it is not thus giving th...

4x4 engage light flashing in 4x2 mode
Hi All.
I have a 2005 Hilux 2.5 D4D. The 4x4 engage warning light flashes after about 10 minutes of driving in 4x2 mode. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

New owner of Hilux 2.5 SRX D4D 4x4
Hi. I am the new owner of a Hilux. Looking forward to the upcoming adventures. One small problem I have with the vehicle. After about 5 - 10 minutes of driving in 4x2 mode, the 4x4 engage light (green light with 4 wheels)comes on (flashes). It drives me insane because after a while it looks like an ...
