I also have the LC Gabriel Safari,(gas) on my SFA. I find the ride as a result quite hard. My Brother has the Old man Emu, non-gas, much softer ride. So the question is who can supply the Gabriel safari equivalent without the gas pressure? Monroe maybe? OLD man Emu are pricey

both conversions used the 2.4 diesel radiator. seems to do the job. Towing a loaded ranger with its off-road caravan up a hill caused it to get a bit hot the other day

hi Reinhart Ive done two SFA conversions both with the 1UZFE non VVTI. In both cases neither had the body lift, but the second conversion has the standard headers on. I lengthened them after the lamda sensor so the flanges were further back. both run electric fans for cooling. cant see a viscous fit...

I've got a similar problem. My left rear (dont think both do it),locks up for the first few k's up the road in the mornings. Not always.
After a few gentle dabs on the brakes or drive with the pedal on the brake, then it's ok.

It could also be your Spigot bearing sticking, meaning your impit shaft spins too fast to go into gear.

sounds like it could be the oil scraper rings. my Suzuki on no.1 piston has gone. also using oil and smokes on acceleration. plug gets clogged up. still waiting for the minister of finance to dish out the rands for repairs.

Does anyone know of a company that can make up hydraulic hoses for Power steering etc?
I need one made up to connect the power steering pump to the steering box, but to a certain length with flexi rubber bit and metal fittings bent in the right place?

Have you got Freewheel hubs? on my SFA, with the hubs engadged, and in 2WD there's a kind of "chirping", which i suspect is the universals on the front Propshaft. If my hubs are in the "free" position, no noise.

Have you changed your Radiator cap? If you losing presure, the water will tend to reach boiling point. Your head gasket may be leaking between your piston into your water jacket, heating the water as well, but you say not using antifreeze.

There should be a dot/line on the pump Pully that lines up horizontally with the bracket behind the pully. I'll check on the one when i'm home and confirm.

my 22R is also heavy on fuel. replaced the rubber hoses from the tank to the fuel filter and i thing from there to the carb as well. still smell fuel now and then. lay underneath. climbed on top with the engine running, still couldn't see any leaks.

i have a similar problem with my back brakes. The back lock up and not the front in a "NOOD" stop. Some Mornings i can feel the back grabbing that my nose just about touches the stering wheel. i'm sure the Load valve is to blame. jams the rear brakes in the morning before i've even touched...

I've used the ones from Midas. one piston seemed to stick for a while. still need to bleed them again, but works. OEM ones are a bit pricey!! :evil: :x

phone Jap Auto for the intercoolers. They have the Mitsubishi one with the fan. quite big IC, so you will need to plan carefully how to mount it. Let me know cause i need to do it when i change to Diesel.
