Start with checking all 4 tyres is the same size and prefrably brand. Then your next option is a diff ratio check.

I would say the 4.0 V6 Hilux motor, but with the whole drive train...and therein lies the challenge. Otherwise keep the Txfer case and maybe change the local SFA diff for SFA imports, one could fit chromoly shafts in the imports. Jaaaaaa...but before you see, you have spent north of R100k and still...

In South Africa around 70% or new Hiluxe's sold is auto. We need to adapt to newer technology.

Ja, it is a good product, BUT it is not a rebuild engine in a can. In other words, it can not fix mechanical issues.

R50k is actually cheap!

The Ford V6 is the cheapest R/kw. There are still a lot of knowledge on these engine out there. Body spares can be problematic but between Ultimate 4x4 and Living SFA you should find what you need, bar a tailgate.

You can contact Turbo Direct or Turboworks.

Whilst the turbo is out, just for a few bucks more, they can upgrade the turbo which will give you some performance gains.

My guess would be at least R125 000 but to the right buyer maybe 150-180? You never know.

Fitting a Kzte will be expensive! You will need an engine(R35k+), gearbox(R20k+), diff ratio's(R5k+) then a ecu, wiring, radiator, labour....I can not see that you will get much change for R100k. You can buy a good imported engine from Engines and More right there in Harties for way cheaper and have...

You can sommer buy an imported box.

Kz and D4D uses the same gearbox - R151.

You should find these boxes at everyone that imports engines and gearboxes.

Hi, It is good to change the oil. It will extend the life of the gearbox. Best and easiest is to use a machine that pumps new oil in whilst sucking the old oil out. Go buy the 10W30 at Mercedes Benz. That is the best spec at the cheapest price you will find. Full synthetic.

Hi Julian,

AFAIR it is not a nice job. You have to remove the disk and hub to be able to replace a stud. Since it is such a terrible job, is it not worthwhile to replace all 6? Do you know why it broke?

As I remember it is illegal to drive without all the wheel-nuts fastened.

Afaik the clutch is 260mm in diameter?

The first Kd also, but then upgrade to a 272mm.

Iirc the 272mm can be fitted but the flywheel needs to be machined. Ask Francois, he should know, otherwise Alan.

Could you perhaps describe the problem more in detail? What you have written is quite cryptic and hard to understand exactly how and when the fuse blows?

BUT a blown fuse usually shows to a short somewhere.

My guess would be the actuator - but it only a guess!

Maybe add some injector cleaner with the next fill-up and see if that makes a difference?

Hi Victor, I remember such an issue year ago, but can not remember what the cause was. Have the propshafts been checked? Centre bearing? I once had a strange shake on my Kz and could not pinpoint it. In the end the idiot(me) that replaced the propshaft had the centre bearing bolted to the wrong side...
