You can use a head gasket only once. If they stripped the engine and re used the head gasket it will leak. Sometimes it wont leak immidiately but eventually it will. My guess is that they re used the head gasket.

Engine oil refineries has been there sine I can remember.
I remember even in the little Free State town where I grew up was an Oilkol refinery, don't know if it still is there.

Mechanical workshops have a facility where OilKol can collect it from it. I just take mine to the local workshop or Speedy. So far they do not have a problem receiving it.

On my Auris 2.0 D4D the guy at Toyota said I must use Synthetic oil and I did exactly as described below, decided it is a load of crap and opted for normal oil. Thats normal, sometimes even with new hoses you buy, some have that white powder on and others not. Must have something to do with either the manufacturing process or the composition of the rubber. Cassie die een waar die ou dood is, het die ou te vinnig gery en hy het nie sy hande op die stuurwiel gesit toe die sisteem hom herhaaldelik gewaarsku het nie. Die sisteem was toe nog in toetsfase. "Hulle" het dus net vertel van die ongeluk, maar nie die volle verhaal nie.

Nothing wrong with a KZ,
but if you buy with high mileage with dodgy service/maintenance I would prefer 2.7
and then of course you get people who manage to ruin a 2.7 engine within 200,000km as well but like Thabo said less can go wrong on a 2.7.

Go for the 2.7, far less that can go wrong if services are dubious. The first 2.7 had better fuel economy, I think is before 2003. There is a idle screw on the part where you accelerator cable fit to. You can adjust that. Will need a 8mm spanner and small allen key. 800 to 900 rpm normal. OK, thanx for warning me.
Sometimes there is a kwaai fuel smell around that vehicle, especially on a hot day. Is it possible that the canister can be broken or something? Or maybe that the valve do not open under certain conditions?
