And then you get somebody like Swartvark who does not drive sensibly at all and does not break anything. So far ons his SFA which is a toy and the the standard 4y gearbox packed up and it's been something like 6 years now, I think.

Re: SFA Hilux V8 Build

See you are in Cape Town. If you look at the old SFA look for rust at the roof, just above the gutters and the A-pilar in front of the windscreen. Also the bottom of the doors tend to rust. The 1999-2005 2.7 Hilux is also a good option. They are bullet proof and the models between 1999 and 2003 dit ...

My Aygo did it twice.
It is as if the handbrake do not want to release. It happens especially if you park the vehicle either after driving in the rain or washing the car.

A friend of mine's wife bumped his Hilux against the garage wall because of the same thing.

Brakes are binding, just try a bit harder to drive it forward or backwards, but just be careful, when it suddenly realeases it will move quickly. Depending on where it is parked make sure there is space for it to move once it gets loose.

Re: Advice on selling Hilux and pricing of extras

Agree, is much better to sell extras seperately. At R50k above the normal selling price it will take you ages to sell your Hilux and in the end you will just drop the price. Guess you can't do much about 5, 6, 7 and 8, but 1, 2, 3 and 4 you can sell. If the spotlights are very special and expensive ...

Don't know either, but I think on petrol it is different. If you force in more air the air flow meter reads more air and will give more fuel to keep the mixture correct. So it will not run lean. As for higher compression that can damage your engine yes. But for non turbo engines they just boost at a...

It has a gearbox which drives the turbo faster than the input. Seems like the input/output ratio is 1:20, which seems a bit fast to me.

Only outstanding matter now is a small oil leak between engine and gearbox and a squeek on the right rear leaf spring.

Since engine has been redone thrice I guess the leak can only be the torque converter seal.
