That is tempting. Lately I often consider putting an original bumper back on my Hilux. Those bumpers are cut rather high and do not catch that easily. Will be a difficult mind set change to go from steel bumper back to original. Let me sleep over it.

Nothing less than R125k. Start on R180k (or less) and test the market, if you do not get a response within a week gradually start reducing your price. Depending on how desperate you are to sell. In the end I think you might settle on R140k but you never know, maybe someone is willing to pay more.

Use some good injector cleaner, that is the cheapest way to start. Sometimes it is just dirty injectors. Toyota sells rather good ones. Myself use Wurth's Fuel Cure Make sure your air cleaner is clean. If, after one tank of Fuel Cure it still smokes you will have to start looking at injectors, etc. ...

It will be lob sided. If both rims and tyres are 17" the tyres will fit both the mags and steelies. Just note that in some Hiluxes there is a big difference in wheel nuts between mags and steel rims.

A fuel smell when the vapor expands is the only good reason. All the old cars vented into air. At the moment my carbon filter is not connected.

If it is the back plate / dust cover type of thing it cannot wear out. It either become loose or you accidentally knock and bend them while replacing pads. Or you can use a relay with the switch. Tap the supply to relay coil from the bright + in James' sketch and cut the earth with the switch.
Brights + Leg 85
Earth to switch, from switch to 86
Battery + to 87 with fuse close to battery.
30 to LED bar +
Earth lead bar on body or directly on battery.

As long as there is still a first box it should be fine. Some people remove the first box completely which is not good. I also have SS freeflow at back.

Never thought about it that way but yes, swopping them around might give you a bit more life out of it, but for the effort I will not bother. By the time the lining is finish on the worse part, the better part only have like a couple of mm left. Rear shoes can last as much as 100,000km in some cases...

You can drive in 2nd and 3rd low range the whole day long with less than a tank of fuel. If you drive 120 km/h in high range you can only drive for 5 hours on a tank. Below 60km/h time takes over, not km.
Very difficult to determine km/l at such low speeds.

Adam all my older vehicles have the expansion tank's pipe above the radiator cap seal.
Idea is when cap opens it must push water into the expansion tank. Thus tank can be atmosphere pressure.
If you say it does not work well, can your expansion tank breathe?

The forum style is very much a personal thing. I feel the same as you.
Other users again felt that the reason of the inactivity on the forum is the style I always had on the forum. So I changed it to the standard style to see if it makes it any better.

Any conversion always cost more than you think. I prefer to rebuild my old engine because I know what I have and how I treated it. If you buy a used engine you do not know what the previous owner did to it. Rebuild will always be my first choice.

Pro Auto Rubber will have some universal rubbers, but it is not always a perfect fit. Sometimes it fits rather well. I used ProAuto channels on my 80 Series Cruiser when I had one, it did not fit 100% but it worked 100%. Maybe you are lucky.

Turn the traction control off, look for the Traction Control OFF button. It has a picture of the drunken driver with the word OFF beneath it.

I think you will have to remove the head to replace the valve stem seals. DO NOT flush the engine with diesel. If you flush you will get some of the sludge off successfully, but then those hard sludge particles will end up in your bearings which will lead to bearing failure. Flushing is a bad idea. ...

Turbo can be refurbished, no need to replace. Steering rack not that expensive. Go ask another workshop, you might end at r15k. If you trade it for a new vehicle, maybe good. If you trade it for a used vehicle, not a good idea, you know your vehicle, you do not know what you buy.

Think reliability very much the same. Go testdrive both. New Jimny's road holding is horrible. Just drive on a straight road with some uneveness in the road and you will feel.

There is a knob on the right side mud flap on the inside. The 31 inch touches that knob sometimes. You can easily just cut it off.
31" no problem, 32 " you will have to modify.

2500 rpm in 5th at 100 km/h sounds pretty good.

What is the rpm at 120km/h ?

I think mostly with standard box they did about 3500 rpm at 120 km/h, yours sounds low which is good for a v8
