Thanks Mud Dog. Wiring seems thick enough and the two plugs will be for two camping fridges so 2.5 to 3 amp draw. Wouldn't run anything like a compressor from those plugs. Hi....some feedback would be greatly appreciated. Where do the northern suburb guys (Bellville, Durbanville, Brackenfell) take their Hiluxes for servicing. My Fortuner needs its 150 000km service which I understand to be a bigger service including having wheel bearing repacked.

Thanks Andy....battery came with the caravan and looks rather old so that may be a contributing factor. Maybe I should take my newer deep cycle I use for load shedding and hook it up to see what the charging voltage is

I just had my Cats Taken out last week and replaced the Box with New ones. So now the V6 grunts when I power up the Dunes. Response Definitly better. Also , NO issues with the Engine light ETC removing the Cats. Jsut make Sure, You do not Bump the Sensors when U are busy . Unbolled the parts closes...

I have the 50mm lift for my Fortuner after having stock standard suspension and shocks before that. Very happy with the ride on road as I have (embarrassingly) not done too much offroad since fitted. I think real value for money when compared to some other brands out there.

Would never have sold it if it was not that I realized that every so often you need 4x4....not nearly often enough unfortunately. I have to agree with the 6-7 km/l in town and best I ever got was 8...

Thanks...I would probably only use one or two at a time as the idea is just enough light to not fall over things....then I guess thin wiring is fine because even 12V LEDs can't be drawing much in terms of amps

Quentin, How would you then charge them again? Remove each time to get to a charger and then replace after charging... Then the next load shedding occurs before they are charged again, sounds like work. You then may as well keep a few portable LED's around the house and use them as the need arises,...

I would also go with the 2008 4x4. Before my current 4x4 Fortuner I had a 4x2 Hilux as I though I did not need 4x4. Guess what, eventually you will swap for the 4x4...

Sorry...another question

This inverter has a nut to which you can connect an earth wire....my smaller inverter I sometimes take along in the car does not. Do I have to attach an earth wire and if so what is the best way to do this? The inverter will be wall mounted in an outside room.

I have a 2000va pure sign wave, that runs off 12v. for now I have 2 x 100Ahr deep cycle batteries that its connected to, but this one has a built in charger so it works like a ups. Always make sure that you do not run an inverter over it's nominal power output for extended periods of time (guestimate would be about 1200W for your unit). Also when charging batteries, never charge batteries in parallel only one at a time. Thanks for that Cassie....never knew about not charging ...

I hope this will spread to more countries because most vehicle manufacturers overstate the fuel economy and speed of their vehicles.
Like my Aygo, Toyota claims almost 21 km/l, I get about 17 km/l
I guess you don't tape up the doors and remove the back seats etc when you drive...
