Re: Some great places to camp in Caprivi and Western Bots

Ngepi Camp near Popa Falls and Mahango Game Park - really special. The reserve is also worth visiting. Also take a boat trip and do some fishing, game spotting and birding. Toilets are very unusual, but great. Camping - make sure you get a site on the river. they also have great platform huts and bu...

Re: Some great places to camp in Caprivi and Western Bots

Nambwa Camp (a Nacobta camp on west side of Kwando River) - fantastic camp on the river - elephants came through at night, hippo sound all night. Ablustions great - can have a conversation from the shower, while the others are washing the dishes - sounds wierd, but made it special. Nice hot donkey b...

Help please - 4l Hilux - fuses

Please can someone help me - I was a real idiot this morning and took out 2 items out of the engine bay fuse box without remembering which one slotted in to which space. Mine is a 2005 Hilux 4 L petrol and the two boxes fit into spaces marked ST and A/F - one is purple (with 5G 03 on it) and one is ...

Re: 2005 front suspension too soft

Guys thanks for all this - running on Cooper SST's (31's) and was at about 0.8 so had good soft tyres. Lockers aren't going to help up these dunes you are going up the steep side. The tupperware up front came off after my first trip. You have to have a better approach angle on any serious trails. Th...

Re: 2005 front suspension too soft

I got mine from 4x4 Megaworld, but I think they got it from Front Runner, but Mud Dog is right it is just get a section of plate with some ventilation holes in it and bent to the shape. I'll try and put a picture on the web when I get home tonight for you to see. Real life saver though - especially ...

Re: 2005 front suspension too soft

The dunes on this trail are fantastic (Luderitz to Walvis) - going back for more, but doing the SOS route next time. I have plenty of power 4l auto box - got up to 130kph before the one dune - its all about momentum as they are huge in places. Yes I do have quite a bit of weight up front - winch and...

Re: 2005 front suspension too soft

Sorry guys - thanks for the interest - I have replaced both shocks and springs - on the dunes it handles most things brilliantly (done quite a bit of dune driving), but on this trip there are a couple of really nice play areas - some of the steep dunes you get up to speeds above 100kph before the du...

2005 front suspension too soft

Forgive me guys if this has been asked before but I am new to the forum. I have a 2005 Hilux with an OME suspension conversion all round - the one issue I have not been able to sort out is the front suspension bottoming out either when you take a steep rocky downhill decent or recently found in the ...
