Hi Stephan, if you're not getting a vibration thru the steering then I'd say it's the propshaft. Sounds like the centre bearing to me.

Take the vehicle to a reputable CV / Propshaft place and get them to check.

You can buy the parts loose from Midas / Toyota / etc and take them with to the alignment shop, ask them to replace and do alignment all in one go.

What is the general consensus with regards to chipping your Hilux.

I find the D4D Auto is very flat on pull off until the turbo winds in, what is the best way to eliminate this lag - Race chip / pedalbox, etc etc.

That's good news re the airbag light.

Clutch I thought of just replacing anyway due to the mileage and was thinking around R7k. Although the clutch did feel quite soft, so a bleed of the system could do the trick.

Unfortunately I think you're pretty much stuck with 3 million and 10 padlocks. You do get packs of padlocks that have the same key, so you don't have to carry 20 million keys.

Thanx Guys

Spoke to Toyota this morning and I'm taking the Prado in, they can apparently measure the brake pressure. One of the questions is the load sensor and they'll check that too.

After nearly 500kms of racing the top 4 were covered by a minute and Hirvonen took the stage win by 9 seconds , yes 9 seconds, from Al-Attiyah - really amazing.

Update on Loeb, incredibly, believe it or not, they got it going and to the end of the stage and is lying 8th overall. He's lost about an 1hr, but importantly got to the end of the stage. His crew will ensure that today he gets an almost brand new car.

I saw jumpers at a Spares Shop the other day going for just short of R650.

Years ago I took 2 x 3m of 16mm welding cable, 4 earth clamps, best jumpers ever and I'm sure today it won't cost more than R500.

Another option

I fitted EFS ( supplied fitted by Creative Wheels, Boksburg) and am extremely happy with it, got a 50mm lift aswell.
