The rust on the floor is usually caused by water dripping from the rainwater channel/air intake for the ventilation system under the windscreen. Make sure you check for rust buildup there. The bakkie has a sunroof and I think it's been leaking for a while, that is the only rust there is further up ...

Between all the work and holidays some work was done....gearbox and dummy engine was mated and lowered in...just need to finish the mountings, the mounting in the pics are the wrong ones. If any one knows of a KZTE box laying around please let me know

Hi Everd, die dummy engine en gearbox is in net die mountings mooi skoonmaak, dan wag ek net vir my computer...maar laas jaar het daar nie veel gebeur nie was mal besig. watch the space...sal later weer fotos opsit

Het jy al besluit watter motor jy gaan insit? Ek het n 7M gebou vir my cressida maar toe ver ander na n 2JZ so ek het n splinter nuut 7M op my engine stand wat niks doen nie toe besluit ek ek sal hom gebruik, maar net met n stock turbo...die engine was gebou vir 800hp + maar nou sal hy met so 250Hp...

Ek gaan probeer verduidelik maar dit is nogal moeilik maar ek sal probeer.....die gearbox het 3 shafts, input, main en cluster shaft, die engine gee die krag aan die input shaft dan gaan dit deur na n stel ratte na die cluster shaft( dit is die ratte wat af draai) en van die cluster na die main shaf...

Die ding is meeste van die belhousings is skeef dan druk hy die input shaft skeef dis wanneer hulle breek, maak nie eintlik saak hoe jy ry nie met tyd sal hy breek

Daai ratte wat so afgedraai is, is die input shaft....die shaft loop skeef en dan draai hy op die einde van die dag af, dis hoekom as ek n lexus sien met n manual is ek baie skepties

So my vraag is hoekom baie mense teen die 7M turbo is....van die mense se hul breek die drivetrain maar hy maak minder as n 1UZ(power output is 191 kW (256 hp), torque of 353 N·m (260 lb·ft)) vs 7MGTE (Output was 173 kW (232 hp) at 5600 rpm and 325 N·m (240 ft·lb)). Al wat lae 5de ratte het is die R154 en W58 en hul kom net in 2wd voor maar as jy n W53h(ek dink dit is sy code) het kan jy die 5de rat ruil met die van n W58 en as ek reg onthou Sal die 5de van n R154 nie in n R151H werk nie die shaft in die boks verskil

Macaco, just check your temperature sensors for the ecu where they are located and working...you'll need a computer to check, there should be a air temp and water temp

I know that dyno it doesn't give free power that is very good power congrats. You can add another 5-10kw if you go to another dyno. dont meant to start any thing however this is where the issues with dynos start!! what is the point to go to another dyno to get another 5-10kw!! you wont be getting t...

22R Help

Hi guys i need some help with my 22R. The engine floods over nite so then i got the carb serviced thinking it was the carb but this morning it flooded again to a point of hydraulic lock now i dont were too look. Some help will be appreciated :beg:

Hi pampoen

Only reason i think its not starting is spark timing is way off check the distributor to see if it is firing on the right cylinder and the leads are on the right plugs and check if you got spark if all that is correct it should fire up or be close to fire up.

The R150F was mainly used on 3vz and 5vz engines and i am struggling to find a local vehicle that had that engine with a manual box. The R150F came with the v6 engines. Spartan thanks for the correction its a R151F 4X4 box witch is still being used on the current Hilux and Fortuner and diesel Quantums(4X2)

Get your self a R151(KZTE) there are a few floating around for about R5500 - R7500. The 7mgte came with a R154 from the factory the only difference is input shaft is shorter and 1st and 5th is shorter for off road and loading applications. Hope this helps

i think there is a manual for the 7mge and gte in the manual section. The timing is the same method as carb.

I dont think that is rite on my cress it uses a bigger mount than a sfa hilux. The mount is round about 150mm D and about 40-50mm thick. And for my engine conversion im getting 3.0l mounts from the dealers at R980 ea

Hoppy you're half correct there GUD/FRAM does make toyota filters but only on old models. The new ones like the D4D uses a Denso filter and looks completely different on the inside to the gud stuff and you can get a genuine filter from toyota for less than R100. I have a open one that came off my D4...

I agree i installed a set about 2 months ago they are really great globes. Every body that saw them didn't believe me when i told them its just globes and not a HID setup :wth: . Big difference over stock especially if your stock globes are 10 years old :lol:
