Re: IFS with Lexus V8 Fuel Consumption?
If the bakkie is not lifted and standard tyres you should get 8km/L @ 120km/h. Lifted with 31" tyres closer to 7km/L. Remember at 110km/h you should get 10% better consumption than at 120km/h. Don't worry about the 2.7 gearbox, it is strong enough. I would recommend Spitronics for flexibility a...

No a 35" stays a 35". Since it is sitting on a 17" rim it just has a shallower sidewall. 35" is the outside diameter. 12.5" is the width of course.

3200*31/33 = 3006 rpm. The diff ratio you would need is 2800/3200*4.88 = 4.27 or closest.
I agree about going to 33's, they just look better.
PS : 33" muds + 4.55 ratios will give you 2802 rpm

If you go with any more lift you will need a diff drop kit to avoid CV's binding, longer shocks because of the potentially bigger wheel travel and quick-disconnects for your sway bar, since it will be limiting your longer wheel travel.

Does the noise happen at full lock or in between as well? If only at full lock put some grease on the steering stops. If it occurs at any angle other than straight it could be tie rod ends/ball joints as you mention. Even if properly greased they could still be worn and noisy.

Not as common as 31's for sure, but also not expensive. R1930 per tyre fitted for Maxxis Bighorn M/T (tyretraders.co.za)
No ratio change is necessary.
32's + 1" lift on the torsion bars and you will have a very capable rig.
