You do not want to hear this, but spend another R2900 and by a lead crystal battery from Deltec. 10 year guarrentee, charges faster, fully with no damage, etc etc. I put one in my trailer, camped for a whole weekend with 90 litre fridge and lights for trailer. Look at the Madman EMS meter. Electronic and configurable. You can connect various analog (temp or Pressure) senders to it, and then configure them to work. Also has on/off (digital) inputs. Alarms are configurable as well. All in one round display.

I had such a system in my hilux. Did the oilers and oil remaval gear, but eventually took all of it off, ran the compressor with a squirt of Q20 before every use. Torque rod...Gone...not needed anymore...was only there to prevent axle from twisting and causing the steering to be "turned" by it. The axle now works like the rear axle

Update, As suggested in Missouri Man's conversion, the nuts in the chassis are not up to the challenge. Mine are now bushes instead of nuts :beg: Will be doin some welding and grinding on the weekend to make the setup better. Also the steering box DOES sit too low, needs another 20mm movement upward...

Chris, bend up your plates and form the tank so only the welding needs to be done, then contact me via pm.
I have a tig machine and a professional welder that can do it for you after hours, more than likely will cost you a case of beers.

Really ambitious build. Looking great. Would like some feedback on the engine and performance of it with the original loom and ecu, with all the "tuners" screaming that it is not the best idea.

AFAIK he has the shackles made up in Joburg to your spec if you want something "different". Good workmanship and I will recommend them. (And I do not like recommending suppliers)

Ja Thys myne gaan nog 'n tydjie vat. Moet die motor nog eers bietjie deurgaan en so voorts. Ek het 'n "Offroad Carb" gekry in die US en dis oppad, so sal maar sien wanneer ek eendag by my een uitkom.

IF you are referring to the Bighorns they are 113Q6 according to the Maxxis.com site, and that means 1150kg and 160km/h rated (for ten minutes if I read it correctly)
