A bit older technology, they were made between 2002 and 2008, not to say it is a bad bow. So I decided to play around with the cam timing on my 2.7 to see what effect it will have on the low down torque. First dyno sheet I advanced the cam timing by 7 degrees as a starting point to see which way she goes. 7 Degrees was way too much and the torque dropped off after 2000 rpm, very nice low...

On my previous diesel I wired an LED with the appropriate resistor straight from the glow plug power bar to see how long the glow plugs stay on. On the Mazda the two also worked independantly, why I don't know.

The cotton and foam filters both work on the same principle. IIRC the oil is positively charged to attract the finer dust particles which are negatively charged. The throttle body has a TPS or throttle position sensor connected to the butterfly flap which gives the throttle position info to the ECU. The Unichip can switch to a different map under full throttle with more aggresive timing and fueling.

On the 2.7 you do not need to T in anywhere to switch the spotlight relay. Toyota kindly provided a positive switching spotlight connection right next to the battery. Male spade terminal to the relay and Bob's your uncle.

Cassie dit het ook maar vrek lank gevat, 60000km ver en 'n paar jaar. Almal het gese ek verbeel myself maar ek ken mos my wa. Ek haat dit as ek iets hoor wat fout kan wees en ek kan nie die fout kry nie. Net so terloops Toyota vra so R7500 die joppie.

Just an update - Rather use the genuine Toyota oil seal 90311-66003, I have had 2 of the cheap generic oil seals pop out and rub agains the axle causing the seal to overheat and spill some of the grease.

Justin there is a difference in performance between the 8 and 4 port but not that big. Unfortunately you cannot just change the intake manifold you have to change the head as well. I bought a similar one but it does not want to establish coms with the ECU, it doesn't work on my Wife's Renault either - not that that surprises me. I will let you know when I get something that works.

In this case it it is definitely the Chip, nothing wrong with the ISC, at least you dont have to fork out R4500 for a new one like Toyota wanted you to do.

Me thinks the tuner did something wrong or the chip is faulty. I hope Dastek changes the chip for you for free Brian. Keep us posted.
