Wheel bearings? Perhaps just jack the vehicle up and check the play also take time to look at all the steering joints etc. You may find the source of the problem.

So I took both boxes out myself and sent it to the local gearbox centre R1800 for all seals and to reseal where the box had been leaking in the middle. Way less hassle and stress and they even pickup and deliver.

My apologies, It is a 22r. Thanks Mud Dog, just the info I needed. Yes the lower end doesn't feel like the old 4y I used to drive. It hits its power peak at about 3500 RPM. Mud Dog, did your cam have a slight miss while idling?

I took the bakkie to have wheel alignment done today and the guy didn't know how to set it properly. Apparently all you can set is the toe on the front axle. The Camber and Caster was set when the bakkie was built. Looking at the alignment machine I was shocked to see how far out of alignment it was...

Well I have managed to find a carburettor rebuild centre in Paarden Island, the owner runs a turbo charged 2.2 carb double cab with 33's. They will rebuild the entire carb from the ground up. If he is good I will post pics but it looks really promising. He says he does on average about 3 hilux carbs...

Just an update. The no starting issue was a dead dizzy, the module was fried, so on went a new dizzy and then I spent another few hours realizing that the main jet was completely blocked, cleaned that and walla! start. Now she revs up beautifully but It still sounds like it's missing as it idles. I ...

No:( I have tested for spark on the coil. I cleaned the old dizzy and put it back, I rechecked firing order. My next job tomorrow will be to check for earth on coil but that is simply where it bolts to the engine bay I would imagine, check fuses and try again. Do you have any pearls of wisdom to add...

Sorry sounds like a stupid question, but I had it plug 1 on cap 1,plug 2 to cap 2, plug 3 to cap 3, plug 4 to cap 4 and it would not start.

Just an update. I cleaned the tank, deleted the choke and double checked the vacuum lines which were completely wrong. Man what a difference! Smooth running and the bottom end feels so much better. The choke was just not working at all so I'll just have to live with cold starts in the mornings. Tnks...

If they don't bolt straight into the existing seat holes you will prob have to make new ones in the floor or fashion a bracket to bolt the seats to, that will bolt to the existing holes in the floor. Mud dog, I agree 100% with you. Actually if I had the cash I would prob have a Lexus v8 vvti fitted and get better economy. But I thought it might be worth checking on any of the guys who had done this conversion if any are still around. It has been a few years since then.

Finding a good Kz is getting very hard. To convince the owner to sell is virtually impossible!! Injectors is quite cheap - should be way less than R5k per set. Thanks Luke, And for the ZA guys what does a set of 4 Injectors go for? Also I do know that the fuel pump is ECU controlled and can give issues, I read somewhere on this forum, that Hoppy does a colt diesel pump conversion, does he still those?

I am just clutching at straws here but once you've tried all the above, give the throttle body a clean or possibly replace to see if it makes a difference. It could be a calumniation of a variety of things.
