Re: Installation of cole hersee solenoid

Andy/Chris thanks for the info much appreciated Deon thanks for the heads up. I will keep it in mind Chris at the moment I run a high cycle in a batery box. The mediun to long term plan would be to add the cteck or hsdp to the batery box. (One of the reasons I do not want to use an nl solenoid as it...

Hi,

Thanks Andy, yes good idea. I will add one even if I get one from a source linked to the ignition. I just need to think if I will remember to switch it off if I go all manual.

Re: Installation of cole hersee solenoid

Hi To open up an old question and one probably answered since... Where can you tap power that will not connect the cole hersee while the starter is turning. It seems like the cigaret lighter will do this. It seems when the ignition is turned on it has power. Power goes off while the key is in the st...

Same thing with me. When I had it at Toyota they said the error code related to the throttle. They disconnected it and I have had it disconnected now for 4 months and have not had any issues.

Chris thanks for the info  I will have a look and hook it up again.

Hilux insurance value

Hi all, I'm busy re-looking my insurance on a 2007 3L D4D 4x4. Its pretty standard I only have cruise control and an after market sound system. One of its best features is the fact it only has 92K on the clock. So they want to give me R176 in the event of total loss. It is impossible to find a 4x4 d...

Re: Disabeling passenger airbag

A Year or so ago I asked some dealers, an auto electrician and panel beater without any luck. I did suspect they did not want to help for fear of giving advice on something dangerous. Which makes no sense as a lot of cars have the functionality to disconnect. My plan was to have a switch of sorts in...

Hi Ernst, so limp mode meaning the engine light came on and the engine would not pick up refs regardless of what you do with the pedal. It just stayed on 1000. It was ideling fine and on a straight road it got to about 40 in 5th gear. So I think it was getting the fuel it needed. Gears and clutch se...

Hi all, So I had one of my bad dreams come true yesterday. In the middle of Sandton traffic bakkie went into limp mode.  Switching off and on made no difference. Drove it that way for about 20 min then switched on and off again and problem solved. Had it at Toyota this morning and the d...

Had mine fitted by "e-car" not sure if you have one in your area. If I remember correctly it was around R2,5K (maybe 3) I will go and find the invoice so I can tell you the brand and price. From talking to the guys at e-car it was a pretty easy installation.
