Some Clutch kits come with them get your spares supplier to find out which one or speak to the gearbox repair guys the may have a damaged spicket shaft.

22r is brilliant motor
Not sure what Diesel motor you are referring to but for low down grunt farm work the 2.4D will be better depending what you are paying per liter over there.

sometimes extending the slave push rod does help buy just cutting a blot about 10mm longer then round it off both ends and try.

The 24/7 Hilux has lunch box lockers do work well.
I do have EFI manifold for the 4y if you are interested did not keep 4y motors that long currently run KZTe in SFA.

My SFA I drive 2H on dirt roads as in the 80's I spent alot of time in Bots and most drove in 2H.

Front leaf springs are straight and that is normal back does look a bit tired but would not worry.New pins bushes and copper slip the packs you have got nothing to loose.

That looks like a import diff which is a very strong diff so you can normally have it re-conned or you can have a look at putting the d4d center portions in for better ratio.

i do oil every 15000km air filter and most time plugs but any good multi grade will work but remember the 2nz motor has a small pickup in the sump.

if the diesel has good compression a lot will start without glow plugs.My father in law was in Balito he did not even Know that he was to wait for glow plug light to go off before starting until a cold morning up here.

strip motor normally heat size on one or two pistons so you can re bore and put new pistons or new sleaves you are still in for a bit of money.

Kobus found the 4Y to be a real dog as suggested efi it and then it is a lot better I personally would have rebuilt the ford V6 suggest keep it until you have done a few trips.I am running KZTE in mine at moment.

You could fuel inject the motor the 3Y came out with it alternate is kzte I got a Toyota bell housing for my conversion.

I had similar issue and news was not good it was rings that had collapsed on no1 piston.Suggest you can also do a compression test.

The cheapest way I found is put a electric in line fuel pump and connected to ignition this way it will deliver fuel to pump.My stepfathers ML270 had very similar issues and this solved it.

Tony I used a QD32 pump on my SFA and I am sure that is for rack power steering.must add when I fitted it I had to move steering right to left for a while to get it working.

just rebuilt a kzte but block also suspect loosing water there as well.I could see the difference in hose pressure between old motor and this motor will have to fork R650 out for a gasket again and have another look.Also you can try pulling injectors out as if a cylinder is burning water it changes ...

Robbert what is the starter doing as earthing and the two positive supplies are crucial I have a 70 amp relay on mine.The recon unit is a good way to go.

phone around for a new alarm to be fitted I think I paid R1600 for my sfa because insurance demanded it.Then you have new remotes/alarm and a guarantee.If you are still looking someone I could ask my brother he worked in the Cape for 8 years for Netstar.

phone the scrap yards they have to keep all the records of the vehicles they get in including kilos.So if you take the time you will find a low kilo motor for a bit more than normal retail.

if it is town and farm short open road travel 2.4D on a uphill a donkey cart will overtake you.4y with efi is alright as to the people that have them.had a ford V6 in my SFA alright better than 4y.Driven WL(2.5d ford)nice motor and simple to maintain.Have got kZTE in my SFA with manual pump(5LT) run...
