Re: Hilux brake upgrade - Land Cruiser Callipers???

Hello Marnus No offence taken. The reason the link was from a UK site is that I live in the UK and SA. But am spending most of my time in the UK at the moment  So its easier for me to buy the calibres in the UK and then just bring them with me, instead of hunting around for parts in SA when I a...

Re: Hilux brake upgrade - Land Cruiser Callipers???

Ok so not the plan has changed I have new questions lol Below is a link to a caliper that says is for vehicles vehicle stability control (VSC). Does it matter that mine doesnt, so it is still fine to fit these? https://www.roughtrax4x4.com/toyota-4x4-parts/brakes/front-brake-caliper-l-h-08-16-with-v...

Re: Hilux brake upgrade - Land Cruiser Callipers???

Hello Marnus That is a brilliant idea fitting the new calibres from the new Hilux! I found the below topic on an other forum about Fitting Prado Brakes to Hilux and it seems not to bad but getting all the needed parts in the UK or SA seems almost impossible. I am sure it is possible but all the part...

Re: Hilux brake upgrade - Land Cruiser Callipers???

I am not 100% sure at what point the Mk6 brakes were updated but I think it is late in 2006 early 2007 when they increased the size of the rim as well. The later model have a larger brake caliper. I think mine has the smaller calibres as it came with 15" wheels and I dont think the bigger cali...

Hilux brake upgrade - Land Cruiser Callipers???

Hello All I want to upgrade my front brakes and thought that there was a conversion you can do using Land Cruiser Calibres and Disk as they just bolt on. I thought this was a common conversion but I can't find much about in on the forum. Is this a thing and if so does any one have any info or forum ...

Re: Radiator Upgrade Mk6

If the radiator is still good (not clogged and the fins are not choked or corroded) then why not try improve airflow. Is the visco fan working properly? Maybe install a pancake fan in front of the radiator / AC condenser. Cheaper option and will improve the AC efficiency as well. I think this might...

Radiator Upgrade Mk6

Hello Guys I have a Mk6 that slightly over heats when on the high way and loaded. Its not much but just enough to turn the AC pump off. I know the issue is because of the ARB winch bumper and all the lights reducing air flow, so I want to install an upgraded radiator. Does any one know a company in ...

Re: Engine conversion D4D to 4.0 V6

I just want more power on the road. I chipped my D4D and now it is acceptable but not really enough. Plus my current engine has done 240K Km so thought it might need changing in the not to distant future.

Re: Engine conversion D4D to 4.0 V6

But do you think the connection and wiring between the car loom and the engine loom will be the same? So all I will need to do is plug the V6 engine loom into the existing car loom? Or do you think they might be complete different?

Re: Engine conversion D4D to 4.0 V6

I am sure that the physical swap wont be to difficult. My main concern is the ECU. I assume that there is a engine loom and a main car loom. I am hoping that the connection between the engine loom and car loom is the same regardless of the engine. I did an engine swap in a Ford Fiesta years ago and ...

It turns out to be the engine temp getting to hot and cutting out the AC. I am hoping that servicing the viscous fan will solve the issue :)
