Re: New Shocks for my D4D
I swapped my original shocks for the Bilstein shocks and i was very happy with the result. Better handling especially on corrugated dirt roads. And they seemed to handle quiet alot of punishment. Once i did a number of mods...and the front end started getting very heavy. Dual Battery, Bumper, Winch,...

Re: Recovery strap rating, bridal ?
Please explain with a picture where you want to put this shackle? :silent: Doubling up on the bridle is not really necessary. The black line is the vehicle bumber. The blue and green would be independent slings to make up the single bridle connected together at the Red tow line with a shackle to fo...

Re: Recovery strap rating, bridal ?
Most commercial Shackles have a factor safety built into the rating. For example a 3,25T Bow shackle would have a 5:1 Factor of safety built into it (This is required by law) So 3,25 x 5 = 16,25 Tons Minimum Breaking!!!! Most of the equipment we use for recovery originates from the "lifting&quo...

Re: Compact Car Shopping, prices, experiences. . . Aygo
I got Swamo a Huyandi I20 from Zeda cars. They are ex Avis hire cars.... So I figured it's gotta be one of the best 4 x 4's around!!!
The price was good, and they threw in an extra years warranty. Got it with 15k on the clock.
It's an awesome little run around....

Re: Hilux Vigo and Fortuner theft issues
I believe it's a numbers/scale thing. I think all cars get stolen...and there is a very small difference in % between different cars being stolen. According to the Double cab shoot out article in the March Drive Out magazine in November 2011 the official NAAMSA figures say the following vehicles wer...

Hi Andre Your Hilux looks awesome!! I had exactly the same idea as you with a white bakkie and all black accessories.... May I ask, how much lift did you get in front with the OME suspension? Would it be possible to take a pic from the front of your suspension? Like this... :beg: http://i1191.photob...

How much is too much?? (Lift)
Hi guys So yesterday I went to 4 x 4@Kungwini near Bronkhorstspruit Dam. Had a great day with some really nice obstacles... But on a couple of the "hump backs" my belly touched....even after trying a few different lines...and the continual tire rub was seriously getting me down!! :alvarin:...
