Re: '87 Hilux DC Re-build

Nice Marius.

This is exactly why I fit inline filters at both of Olive's tanks prior to the surge tank ... costs nothing and I change them out every 5K kms.If I ever decide to go internal pump on the main tank I will also fit a magnet.

It is not the rubberising itself that causes rust but rather the procedure followed during - most companies just grind of the oem paint to roughen up the area and then go at it and so any moisture that gets in will cause rust as the metal underneath is totally unprotected.I chose a urethane based pr...

A 2UZ out of the states will never have as little kms on the clock as the motors out of Japan.

So is the little extra kw and Nm from the 3UZ worth almost double the price of the 1UZ VVTi ...

Why don't you import the vehicle into ZA and sell it like that as opposed to "breaking it up", if you know what I mean.As a returning citizen, you should be allowed to import it into ZA if I recall correctly.

Most/all FPRs that I have seen, had their returns to the tank/surge tank at the bottom and the inlet on the side but I suppose yours could be different - the manual should be very clear on that so check your manual first ?
