O and the racechip that caused the soot and slight over-fuelling is lying in a box and a dastek chip has been fitted with a proper tune and AFR (Air Fuel Ratio).

Some further reading and pickchas of someone that had the same issue and fixed it DIY. He attributes it to rust, but I beg to differ and say that is soot buildup. Just to update anyone with this issue. Even with the boost clamp the turbo eventually failed spectacularly. The turbine shaft snapped due to cyclic overloading. Gaan koop die centre bearing by Toyota, vra vir afslag. Dit is 'n item waarop hulle tot 22% afsalg kan gee. Aangesien die payday was, koop sommer ook nuwe universals. Laat doen die job by 'n goeie propshaft plek met die toyota parte.

Willem, daardie klink vir my so low atf. Jy moet die boks en motor op temperatuur kry en dan die level check. Ek het met my refill dieselfde fout gemaak en het 'n volle liter te min ATF ingehad.

You are driving that auto incorrectly by leaving it in D. Put the selector in 3rd or 2nd. The torque converter only locks up in 3rd and 4th. check your AT fluid level. Ek betwyfel dit sterk. Die auto box ecu en die engine ecu moet met mekaar kan gesels. Die prado ecu en fuel system is anders as die wat in die die hilux gebruik word. Selfde familie maar nie interchangeable nie.

Mars, the boost clamp is simply a setting on the Chip itself. It intercepts the signal from the MAP sensor and tells the ECU its something lower from a certain threshold level upwards. I drop mine off at the local workshop. They have no issues taking it. I believe they actually get paid per liter for it. If you can refine fish and chips oil surely used motor oil isn't such a stretch.
