Some feedback: Replaced two U-Joints, Center Bearing, Output Shaft Bearing, Output Shaft Oil Seal, Diff Oil, Transfer Case Oil, Gearbox Oil and balancing of Prop-shaft. All at a cost of R2500. (The only outsourcing was the balancing part) And some good advise which I read somewhere: To torque the n...

I searched Lisa's posts, and could not find the one where it was for sale. All the other regarding change in color etc. are there. Even on my posts, I couldn't find the correspondence.

Hi Robbie, Nou net ene gery wat presies maak soos joune. In 5de ry teen 80-90km/h. Voet afhaal dan hoor mens die geluid as jy jou voet afhaal. Versnelling niks. Ook in ander ratte nie juis iets. Hallo Julle klomp slim mense, Two years later, and i'm back on this topic: There is a strange vibration/rumbling noise when engaging 5th gear. Re: What Is The Cost To Rebuild 22R 2.4 Petrol?
Rather sooner than later, Robbie. The 22R is an interference motor - that means if the cam stops rotating / cam itself snaps / or if the chain jumps teeth on the sprocket and the valve timing goes out, then the valves will interfere with the pistons and there will be damage. The good news is that c...

Re: What Is The Cost To Rebuild 22R 2.4 Petrol?
P.S. My 22R is now heading close to 300,000km and no problems - compression still good, no mechanical motor noises (timing chain was replaced at about 200,000), so if you don't need to open it, leave it. With regular services and some TLC you should get 600k out of that motor if not more. :winkx: G...

No, you won't just bend the link that easily unless you have changed it from straight to a "goose neck" shape - even then I think it will require some serious force. What I think about over-tightening it is that the balls might be worn out of shape a little and the new cups may come under...
