Some feedback: Replaced two U-Joints, Center Bearing, Output Shaft Bearing, Output Shaft Oil Seal, Diff Oil, Transfer Case Oil, Gearbox Oil and balancing of Prop-shaft. All at a cost of R2500. Hallo Julle klomp slim mense, Two years later, and i'm back on this topic: There is a strange vibration/rumbling noise when engaging 5th gear. The 22R is an interference motor - that means if the cam stops rotating / cam itself snaps / or if the chain jumps teeth on the sprocket and the valve timing goes out, then the valves will interfere with the pistons and there will be damage. P.S. My 22R is now heading close to 300,000km and no problems - compression still good, no mechanical motor noises (timing chain was replaced at about 200,000), so if you don't need to open it, leave it. With regular services and some TLC you should get 600k out of that motor if not more. :winkx: G...

Stefan, I tested the function on the springs inside the draglink. They don't give way when turning the wheel left to right. No, you won't just bend the link that easily unless you have changed it from straight to a "goose neck" shape - even then I think it will require some serious force. What I think about over-tightening it is that the balls might be worn out of shape a little and the new cups may come under...

Hello guys. The voltage regulator on Altenator has decided to step down. Replaced headlight and spot globes twice in a week. Sommer go 17-18V whilst idling. Battery also swollen.
