I replaced my slafe a while ago and it did not want to work. When bleeding I pressed the pedal in slowly, then keep it down for a couple of seconds, release and press in slowly again. Only after about 15 times doing this the pressure started to build up. When bleeding with the normal pumping action ...

Sometimes when it over fueled or flooded plugs will get wet and it is better to replace them. But you then still need to find the reason for over fueling. If you do not use it often it might be a needle and seat that is not sealing properly. For that you will have to open the carb. Or maybe first th...

I never worked on a D4D before, but I know some turbo diesels have a vacuum pump and do not draw vacuum from the manifold like petrol engines. If your D4D has a vacuum pump I will also check it out for a possible cause. Start with the vacuum lines like Andy suggested, it is the cheapest part to star...

Sorry see the pic now. Do you perhaps have one of the others? Take it to a Bolt and Nut shop and ask them for a simular high tensile replacement. Will probably be a M10 with 1.25 pitch. Only difference is the original will take a 14 spanner and the replacement will take a 17 spanner.
