Yes off course. I would imagine that even though these would look great on my van, there would be some disadvantages too, fuel consumption being one of them. So I'll definitely look into it a bit more before I just throw my hard-earned tom at it. Good to know it's an option though.

Yep. Roy too is in need of a sprayjob. You can imagine what 20 years of sun has done to his coat, but I like the colour, despite how impractical it is.

But 1st I need to get a pair of new takkies, so that I can go play a bit. I imagine 31" should go straight on with no modifications?

I'm so sick of Gumtree already . I've been watching it like a hawk and still a few nice bakkies have slipped through my fingers. But I might just have a winner. Taking it for a drive tonight.

Would love to Andy. The only reason the Surf was ever an option is 'cos it was REALLY cheap (almost half the price of what I'm looking at for a basic double cab SFA).
But, perhaps, if I'm patient enough, I'll find something that's affordable.

I appreciate all the info, advice and reality checks. I now am able to make a well informed decision on this vehicle. I realise that this is definitely not going to be an easy sale and that she has many demons that need to be exorcised before "she will be mine"..............but I still can...

I'm speechless. I really didn't expect any responses at all. Thanks so much to all for the words of advice and encouragement. My dream has taken a slight knock following Rich's reply, but at the same time I'm happy that you've actually seen and driven the vehicle and were able to point these problem...
