Thanks Cassie

Re: ORRA - Important Notice - Renewals

Hi Cassie Well let me gooi my question  . I bought a radio about 2 years ago, ICASA type approved and applied for license which I got. Problem is that I have not renewed license since and wonder if I will pick up problems going through procedure to get ORRA license. Previous license was not...

Who can I speak to about the licensing procedure? I have read on the forum regarding the process but have a question or two I would like to raise with someone in the know

Re: Fortuner 2009 4x4 dash light-urgent info needed

I have 2006 model and it definitely has a warning light when CDL is engaged. I cant see how the newer models dont have as it serves as a warning so you disengage when back on the road. Sounds fishy.....

Re: FORTUNER OR PRADO

Very interesting. I bought a Fortuner late last year after driving a Hilux for 4 years. I reaaly love my Fortuner but always thought that the Prado would be regarded as a better car all round. Maybe we are all just biased :-)

Re: Frtuner upgrades...

Hey OOOMS

Quick question about that rear swing arm of yours....is it just the angle of the picture or is your spare rather high and partially blocking your rear view?

Thanks

Re: Tyre prices in Cape Town area

Thanks for the help. I was keen to fit BFG on the Fortuner but at R3000 per tyre it is rather steep. Given that the 2006 Fortuner is from the era of "stability issues" I dont want to take chances with inferior tyres. Your input has been very helpful.

Re: Tyre prices in Cape Town area

You like them that much or do you just not like the Bridgestones? Is it the AT that you refer to from Goodyear? Are they quite good offroad too?

Re: Tyre prices in Cape Town area

Hi
I have seen that the Goodyear Wrangler AT are much cheaper but was not sure what they are like. Since I want to also tow a caravan I dont want to take chances

Re: Tyre prices in Cape Town area

Hi Its tempting but then I need to replace 5 rims and 5 tyres and then I'm probably in for even more cash. I just couldn't believe that a few months ago you could buy 245x75x15 D694s for about R1500/1600 and now I am being quoted R2800-R3000 for 265x70x16. And now the Hiluxes also have 16" rims...

Tyre prices in Cape Town area

Hi Where would I find the best prices for new tyres in the Cape Town area? I just bought a Fortuner that needs new tyres and can't believe the difference in prices from 15" to 16". I replaced the Hilux tyres a few months ago for almost half the price of 16" tyres. I am looking for eit...

Re: Some questions for a new Fortuner owner

Hi OOOMS

Suddenly realised I never asked you whether you need to install air suspension all round or just in the rear  Probably a stupid question but I don't know much about air suspension. Just know that with the pickups you only need to install in rear...

Re: Some questions for a new Fortuner owner

Thanks OOOMS...very helpful indeed. Do you think the airbags will have the same effect towing a road caravan where the issue is not so much weight on towbar but more the sheer size of the caravan; I tow a 6.5m caravan  and if the wind picks up you know about it. We use a stabiliser which help...

Some questions for a new Fortuner owner

I just recently sold my Hilux 2x4 and bought a 2006 Fortuner V6 4x4; and I'm loving it !!! I have a number of questions as I don't want to make the mistake of adding accessories or kitting out and then finding out afterwards it wa the wrong thing to do. First of all, the 2006 models were some of tho...
