landrover power stearing problems

my dad has a 93 landrover defender but the powerstearing just died, now its like a tank to drive, any one got any ideas of whats best to do?

As an Ex-Discovery owner I suggest ww.Landyonline.co.za - I was able to source quite a few bits of info from that site.

Don't refurbish, it will be a waste of time, buy new or second hand.

I got a new one last year for a disco from Albert at British Offroad in Vereniging for a much better price than the other big names in Landy spares.

To get back on topic, the cheapest and by far the most reliable fix?

Sell it and buy a Hilux!

A 90 defender with a 300 engine or likewise (not the td5, to much electrics) is very capable off-road veichle and actually realible, don't say anything else ;)

chears for the advice, the pump was beyond repair so we had to get a new one,
parts and fitting cost $992 aus
