Dual battery help.

Post by FUDGES »

Nog n dual battery thread.

Ek wil by julle hoor of my plan gaan werk?

Sal my plan werk? Het julle enige ander idees of help?

Hi AJ

Ons staan partykeer so 4-5 day sonder enige krag

Dis ek dink n a 4 stage laaier.

Net so vir interessantheid hier by KaapAgri verkoop hulle a 120w opvoubare sonpaneel vir R4999.
Weet nie of dit goedkoop is of nie.
Is dit reg dat 120w vir jou 10 amp sal gee. :?:

Nee George / Heinich, nie so aangenaam nie. so R20.00 per watt is aangenaam.

DC-DC charging is defnitief 'n opsie! Dit gaan nog 'n rukkie wees, maar "all good things come to those who wait!" :)

George

Battery Management System
MULTIPLE BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMSThere are various Dual battery management systems, or battery isolator models on the market. Some use Diodes, other use Contactors or Relays, and some use solid state switching devices. Our experience, however, showed us that the problems experienced in the energy/power requirement fields of the4x4 industry, is a little more complex then just a case of retro-fitting another isolator to the system.

The shortfall of most dual battery systems boils down to the inability of the batteries to accept full charge, in either a short period, or at a low recharge voltage level. As a total solution to the multiple battery management system, we focus on supplying a holistic solution in our EBMS multi battery systems.

The PMP multi battery management system looks at the recharge-ability of the battery, combined with the ability of the alternator to produce optimal power. We therefore offer an intelligent battery isolator (Multiple battery management unit) that has the ability to "talk" to the alternator - which is controlled by a special regulator. The EBMS150 (Isolator and battery management unit) coupled with the MXS (Special alternator boost regulator) work together as a unit, but can also be operated independently should the situation require it.
•Battery isolators (Multiple Battery Management unit) ((such as the EBMS-150) are recommended in DC systems with two or more battery banks that are functioning in an isolated position of each other.
•The multiple battery systems have to be installed between alternator or charger and the isolated battery banks. The benefit of the solid-state battery isolators (Multiple battery system) is that the charge process for both batteries happens completely automatically - without utilizing any mechanical parts.
•The voltage drop is minimal between charger/alternator and battery, caused by the Mosfet of the dual battery management unit, is automatically compensated for.
High power, MAXAMP Alternators equipped with the MXS 3 stage regulator, will charge the correct way - if the sensor wires between the MXS and the battery poles are connected. Any cable losses will now automatically be compensated for. The EBMS 150 multiple battery management unit and gives priority charge to the battery with the lowest voltage.

Firstly it is not advisable to connect a high cycle and deep cycle to each other unless via the solenoid. They are not alike and will get damaged.

Secondly, when looking to keep 12V with many batteries, connect in parallel, negative with negative, positive with positive thus keeping 12V but increasing number of Amp hours.

Thirdly, the MXS that Rian has posted is available @ http://www.planmypower.co.za/ for a fairly hefty price

Im gona ask a very stupid question but wat does a solenoid do :blushing: :blushing: ?

Can I fit a switch then where I can alternate between the 2 batteries say when the deepcycle is flat can I switch everything over to the highcycle? or is there something that can do this automaticly. :shock2:

eish! :eh: dis hier op die forum.

Gaan kyk na: http://www.hilux4x4.co.za/dual_battery/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But the wiring :?: :(

I fitted one of these
Imageon a 24 volt system for the City of Tshwane, this bus is equiped with a Pa system big amps & speakers conected to a 4000 watt inverter that supplies the power for the system. Since fitment we have had no hassles.

Fitment was very easy. Dont know the cost these days but I definitly suguest it to any one, have done a couple of the relay tipes but its got much more wires
