Reverse Camera
I fitted a reverse camera to Dreadnought on Sunday evening.
I bought it on eBay from Taiwan, and including shipping it cost me about R150-00 for a screen and two cameras. Unfortunately during the installation process I have one of my great legend moments and I broke the second camera, so I cannot fit one to the front.
But the rear camera makes reversing a breeze, as I can see what is directly behind me now.
Now I'll get me another camera that I can fit as the forward facing one.

Re: Reverse Camera
The rear facing camera is a good idea when reversing. When moving forward I use a handy piece of kit which comes with the car so no installation issues - a windscreen!

After seeing some people drive (luckily no one on this forum) I don't think a forward facing camera is all that a bad idea....zepplin wrote:The rear facing camera is a good idea when reversing. Re: Reverse Camera
Best is just to do a general search on reverse camera on eBay. http://www.ebay.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Reverse Camera
As ek die kar wat van voor af kom in die kamera kan sien, en ek sien hoe groot word die bestuurder se oe, dan moet ek weet hier kom groot drama.

Re: Reverse Camera
Heinrich, did you have to make a bracket for the monitor?
HOW did you get it attached there?

Re: Reverse Camera
Roy, it came with a bracket that I used two self tapping screws to attach it to the dashboard............
Cassie, I purchased it from this eBay shop. I also bought a reverse sensor kit from him that I've installed in my mother's car.
http://shop.ebay.com/farmerseller/m.htm ... ksid=p3686" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He does not have that much stock available at present.
I bought this camera from him as well yesterday. http://cgi.ebay.com/7-LED-IR-Car-Rear-V ... 5d2bc7dc2f" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; When it arrives I'll install it for use in the the front so that it can view directly in front of the bumper where I cannot see, even when using the windscreen.

Re: Reverse Camera
Daai goed werk darem maar lekker ek will ook nod die kamera by kry vir my.

Re: Reverse Camera
Fred, daai parkeerspasie probleem by julle is baie erg. Ek wou die sensors insit, maar die gatsaag kon nie hond haaraf maak op die bumper agter nie.
Plesier Cassie.
