Garmin 276c fuse question

Post by george »

My 276c speaker/power unit is not making proper contact so i decided to open it up.i am also going to use another cable without the speaker.
I found that the fuses supplied by Garmin is 15A250v.Should it not be 12v fuses or will the 250v fuses also work?

George.

As long as the current rating is the same and the voltage rating is the same or higher it should be fine.
You need 12V fuse but that one is rated 220V, so no problem, just make sure that your system indeed needs 15A, that is huge....

Ja nee Johannes.Ek dink ook 15amp is baie hoog.Ek gaan dit vervang met 10amp 12volt fuses.Dis net snaaks dat Garmin sulke fuses sal verskaf.

George, that fuse rating is meant to be 1.5A. Any normal 32mm x 6mm Fast Blow fuse is suitable. The voltage rating means squat, all fuses of that size are rated at 250V AC.
