GPS Please help
Hi Guys
I need to get myself a GPS.
Resently I was down in Cape town using a Garmin Nuvi 1200.
I have to say that it really worked well for my needs.
I will be going down again in two weeks time but I need to get my own.
The only thing that I need is a cheap reliable GPS with maps for South Africa and I need to load maps for Namibia as I am planning a holiday there in the near future.
Some people say TOM TOM and others say GARMIN.
I have used a few Garmins but I'm not familiar with Tom Tom.
Please Help !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok then. That sorts out the Garmin or Tom Tom debate.
Damn that was funny.

Now to decide on a model.

Re: GPS Please help
Nuvi 2460 as Ooooms recommends, otherwise the Nuvi 500 is a bargain with its somewhat smaller screen, but is as rugged as hell, waterproof and one can replace the battery when it's necessary. The Nuvi500 is selling at less than half its original selling price.

Suppose.....at my age I need more than specs....to see that little screen, but must admit it was a bit of an upgrade to the Quest....Family_Dog wrote:Oom Ooooms, did you forget to put your specs on?
