LED strip with 9V rechargable

Post by Rebel 4x4 »

Im considering using 1m of the LED strip with a 9V rechargable battery for my camopy.
Question is, how long will the battery last, and is it worth it to go 9v.
Will there be a big difference in light between the 9V and 12V?

Depends on how big the battery is
As for brightness, it will not be as bright as on 12 volt but you will still be able to see.

The battery that is used in home alarm systems is a good option, compact, rechargeable, and 12V.

Thomas,
Why not just use the 12v from the vehicle. It's not difficult to run the wire.
Just because it says "4WD" doesn't make it an off-road vehicle.

I have a 30cm led strip in my (from Pieter) canopy roof, and it is wired to the bakkie battery. No visible battery drain and plenty light!
