My "new" Hilux came with a marine type radio.
I see a lot of posts on the forum that I will probably have to wade through to understand how to use this thing as I never had one before.
What are your thoughts on this radio?

Re: Radio info
Now I am sure our local OLD radio guru will correct me if I am wrong but you will need to get your ORRA license. This can be done through the club but you will need to register as a club member. You will also need to get it programmed to the ORRA channels.
I personally do not have one of these radios but I have heard they are decent.

Re: Radio info

Re: Radio info
Daai is soos George se 'n 29MHz radio (AM).

Re: Radio info
Andre, as the Martian and the other esteemed Gentlemen have indicated, it certainly is one of the 'better' 29MHz radios.
You could advertise it, many people still use it for marine purposes and then put the money towards a suitable VHF radio.
Ball park price? If in good condition with the 29MHz Antenna, anything from R1200 - R1500.
The VHF antenna would fit in the same 19-20mm hole that the 29MHz antenna does.
