So finally took the plunge and bought the gps... Takealot at R4.9k.dont buy from the retailers they are #&*&Ing expensive at about R7k... :roll:

Ordered at 10:30 today and will deliver after 5 today. Now that's service!

Now to play with mapsource tonight... Should be fun loading T4A!

Haha I wish they still made the 276C,or at least upgraded it... Would have bought that instead. Let's see how this beast goes... For the price it better come with a built in espresso machine... :lol:

I have both the above, both are excellent GPS receivers. Stuart, you need to buy the Automotive kit as well, it is not supplied standard - i.e. charger cable and windscreen suction pad with speaker etc.

Not sure the Montana will work with Mapsource, it does work with Base Map.

If you looking for the best mount go with RAM mount, it's the only one i've ever had that could take the punishment.

neil yea I remember from last time. Already bought the garmin one as it was just easy to find. My next mount will be the ram one and the missus will use the garmin one.

So can anyone with T4A assist? Seriously no road maps so I cannot route to an address?

That's why it is called "Tracks for Africa"... you should still get the Garmin mapping software.

No issue with Mapsource and the Montana? Never tried MS on mine.

trying to enter an address ... niks, nada, bokkerall .... stupid garmin ....

week later .... same thing ....

and again ....



ready to bin the piece of trash ....




THEN I realise it is set to T4A from a previous trip ..... change to Garmin maps and it works perfectly .....

Haha okay cool, just another R800 this gps is expensive Haha! Have not yet loaded mapsource, been a bit of a busy one :P
