Hi all,

Was recently in bots for a week. Just travelling between Gaborone and Selebi-Phikwe. Found that my Garmin could not pick up satelites along the way. Only for about 5secs when near Mahalapye. I have the maps loaded for Botswana. Anybody else experienced this before? Thoughts? Perhaps just poor coverage in that area?

I drove through there two weeks ago, my garmin had satellites all the way through botswana. Martins drift to plumtree

Site the Garmin in a different position on your Dash or Windscreen. Something was blocking or interfering with the satellite signal.

had no hassles in Namibia or Botswana with the GPS

Ja I tried that. Even while out the car stationary it wouldn't pick any up. Any, thanks.

Heading through there again soon so can test it out again.

Have you updated the software? We had a problem once with satphone not picking up satellites....updated fireware and picked them up straight away.

What model Garmin? The Quests had an occasional hiccup with the internal wiring from the antenna to the main board.
