Baie dankie vriende.

Ek stem saam, ons club is lekker rustig

Weereens n suksesvolle Hilux naweek.

What a weekend!
It was very nice meeting you all after all these years. I would like to thank each and every one of you for making this a memorable weekend. It was absolutely great putting the faces to the usernames. it was also nice to see that there is such a good spirit between the Hilux guys and girls.
Thanx Guys. This weekend I realised that this is not only about a club anymore, being part of the Hilux club is like being part of a big happy family.

Legend35 / Johan en Deirdre...well done!!!
4x4 Direct - Pieter Petoors, vir die borg van die Marshalls se hoedjies, http://www.4x4direct.co.za" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Saturday (and the run-up) to this event has been great. And everything (including) our result has just improved so much over 2010. It bodes well for a team/family that is clearly improving in all the right ways.

Being Marshal it gives one a very different perspective about the different clubs and their club cultures; and I am happy to be a member of this specific club culture. A great group of people. Being the one responsible to keep tab of the points allows you to be more directly in touch with the competitors and seeing the little tantrums that can be handed out when things does not go the "wanted" direction.

I'd again like to thank the other marshals for the assistance which made our obstacle what it was. Mark, thanks for being their a large part of the day. Neil, Thabo and Kenneth, for manning the top. Koos and Fritz for keeping an eye on the navigators and their open windows. Dawie, Marius and Fransisco for handling those sneaky plastic balls. Cassie who probably walked the course with every single vehicle that passed through it; your legs must be killing you. And then Henk, thanks for keeping tab on the scoring for the morning; you put a great process in place. And then the young boys that helped gathering the plastic balls that went all over the show; thanks very much - your enthusiasm was contagious (wish your energy was). And JohanM, you stuck in there with failing throat in very dusty conditions, thanks very much you're a star.

Our sponsors, and all our fundraisers- THANKS. Koos, Rita and Kenneth (Baker Ken), thanks for the lekker breakie; it put in place a solid foundation for a long day. Marius and team, thanks for keeping the drinks flowing and those boeries for lunch was a winner, the second one even beat Cassie.

East Rand Toyota (Jaco); and Pieter thanks for kitting us out in nice shirts and lovely caps.

Seeing our team arrive at our obstacle was great, and even after a long day you guys were still smiling. Shows you a culture of which I am proud to be a member off.

Lastly Cassie, thanks for the companionship back to the East Rand; the airwaves was buzzing all the way back; and it made the road feel much shorter.

Thanks to everybody that took the time and made the effort just to have been there.

I would like to tkank each and every body that was there and participate in keeping our Club name flying high!!

Thank you very much to all the sponsors that sponsored the shirts, lunch, breakfast, cooldrinks, bread and all the other things!!!! You guys all are one of a kind!!!

TO all the people behind the screens with all the Admin and arrangements, thank you for making it run so well!!! TO all the other marshalls, thank you for sticking it throughout the day....I think we had one of the best marshalled obstacles. Kerry said that we did the most effort at our obstacle to make it look nice and to have decent seating area's for the spectators!!! I appologise for not being able to assist full day, but the Bronchitis wasn't playing along very well!!!

I am proud to say that we are the best club there is, having spent the afternoon at different obstacles and seeing how other teams behaved, I say:

HILUX 4x4 CLUB LEAD THE WAY!!!!

PS: For those guys still contemplating if they should buy VHF radios... we did a test to see how far we could still talk to each other after I turned of the R21. At the furthest point where we could still hear each other we were about 10km apart and at 12km Heinrich could still hear me but I could not hear him. The difference.. my aerial has the bigger base (the roof). For those who want to check... I was driving past the Linmed hospital in Rynfield (Benoni) and Heinrich was passing EG Jansen High School on Rietfontein Road in Boksburg. So plenty of builtings and trees etc between us.

Met a few more good people, some of which will become good friends I believe :wink2:

From our side, a re-iteration of all the gratitude, compliments etc mentioned above. Definitely the best club to be in :dance1:

Hi Jan
