2003 prado diesel

Post by Bomber »

Hi guys,

I have been on the hunt for a used hilux but someone has thrown a spanner in the works...
I can get my hands on a 2003 prado with 195000km on the clock....

I can get it for 150k....

It has barely been offroad and I sort of know the history of it.

Questions are:

Is the 2003 diesel engine a kzte?
I know that it has used both 500 and 50 ppm, any injector issues?it has had none as of yet...
What sort of mileage can these cars take?heard of guys with over 500000km?

If I where to buy it, how much should I budget for things to go at this mileage? It's an automatic by the way...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks guys!

Definitely a kz yes. These are good engines if looked after. Not as reliable as the 3.4 petrol Prado engine imo but not bad overall. They have their fair share of problems (especially head gaskets) which you can check out all over the forum threads.
