some small issues

Post by richard »

hi all

i have become the proud owner of a 2000 Prado VX 3.4 and am just loving her.

i have a few small issues that need my attention but thought i'd seek advice here first.

Firstly, where can i find replacement air vents? The larger centre one moves around and doesnt stay in place and the smaller on close to the door needs new fins.

Secondly, the heater doesnt work. i havent looked for any signs yet and am too scared to start removing parts off the dash as i dont want to break any clips.

Whatever recommendations or info is given would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

For the heater check if the heater pipes inside the engine compartment are connected.
It is an oldish vehicle and maybe the heater radiator inside the cab was kaput and they disconnected the hoses.

I did that to my Hilux 7 months back and still have not fixed it.

Shot Richrad, it really is a great vehicle.

Try Gemini, N1 4x4 in Jhb. Marius from N1 4x4 is on the forum.

The centre part of the dash comes out very easy, couple of screws at the bottom and I think the ashtray. Then it just clips out from the bottom.

You realise you are obliged to post pics of your Prado...
