Happy new Prado owner - Cpt trip done & dusted!

Post by DanabaaiDaan »

Daar is hy menere !!

Following Johan's advice, I kept to 2500 rpms (speed around 115km/h) and the results are in !! A very respectable 8.2km/L on the way down to Cape Town, and 7.55km/L on the way back - but with a nasty head/cross wind of about 40-50 km/h for the last 120kms past Hedielberg to Danabaai!! Also used the "Overdrive off" button when going up long hills, ensuring a steady speed without having to force the gas pedal into the floor ! Traveling in and around Cpt CBD gave about 6.8 - 7km/L.

Ek is sowaar "over the moon" met hierdie "awesomely" lae brandstofverbruik !! Meer as 60% beter as my "gas guzzling" LR V8's waarmee ek in my vorige lewe gestraf was!!

Thank you for everyone's advice and input !! Even happier Prado owner ! :lmao: :yahoo: :dance1: :taunt: :stir:

Daan,

:cooldude:

Janee kyk!

Thanks Tony! Ja - I always said "eendag as ek groot is wil ek n Prado besit"!! Fortunately the "blowing up" of my LR created the opportunity and I was luck to "run into" a very good deal!
