I want to ask all the guys who got their accreditation through AOA in the Cape Town to log on and join our African Offroad Academy - Western Cape facebook group. It is still pretty new and there is not much going on there, but we'll be putting some pictures up and get some training discussions going. It would also be nice to have all the guys/gals together in one spot to send out future communications etc.

The rest of you guys can join in as well...

We did an accredited training course this weekend and it is sad to report that for the first time in almost a year there was not a single Hilux4x4 member in the group.

Vald did, however, join in the fun and attended the lectures and the trail on the weekend. When Kaspaas decided to blow a seal and started spilling oil at a rate rivalling that of the Exxon Valdez, I decided to ride shotgun with Val to the top of 2-Oceans. What a lot of fun that was! Thanks Val.

No problem Thys, needed good 4x4 driver training, don't want the guys to kick my butt at Bootcamp next month.

Congratulations to George and Ali for attending, participating and qualifying this week. Also the rest of the staff of WegRY/Drive-out managed to get themselves accredited. Well done guys and girl!! It was a lot of fun.

It is with great honour that I can announce that the Hilux4x4 community now have 3 new accredited 4x4 vehicle operators.

Tiaan (Swartvark), Leon (Leighton) and Clive (Cally) attended our US254135 Offroad Driver training on the weekend at Stellenbosch and passed with flying colours.

Thanks also to the other regulars who came around to assist and support, Val, a pleasure as always, and Rupert (G-Spot) and his generous goodie bag. Then also to George, Turbo and Petou who helped out behind the scenes. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

The weekend was a great success, despite some logistical nightmares on Friday, and everybody had a great time.

Stephan Brand (Sidekick) and Richard Bauermeister (Tsa) attended our US254135 4x4 Driver Training on the weekend. Both these gentlemen made it with flying colours. It was a pleasure to get to know you guys better and to spend some quality 4x4 time together. Congratulations guys and well done!

We didnt do the entire trail, just a few parts of it. Time constraints.. I didnt get to see the water holes where you guys were all stuck in, but I am sure the Ford would have made it easy peasy...

Blackadder (Tinus) also joined us for an hour or so and rode shotgun in the Blue Limo when we took the guys to the sand pit. He will be joining us in CT on GTG's from now on... that awesome black Tuna needs some offroad action...

Kobus did Allan Goodway present the course himself?

Yes Thys, all of it. The weeknight class and exam as well as the sat, sat night and sunday. He was assisted by a very knowledgable guy Nigel?? over the weekend. Alan must be on steroids! With a painful shoulder and all.

Another weekend of hard work produced 2 more Hilux4x4 accredited 4x4 drivers under US254135.

Thanx to Thys, Fykie & all at Team Offroad, a great experience & I'm still digesting all the info imparted! Was my first time on a trail & I felt very comfy, well done chaps!

Baie dankie Thys en almal met die geluk wense, ek het so paar fototjies van ons kursus onder die "Meet the people" geplaas. Dit was die mees voortreflikste kursus wat ek al bygewoon het.
