Well....I really hate to tell you a long sobby story but here goes.....(the shortened version, but I am sure you will get the message)

One of our Forum Members contacted me requesting purchasing details of a SFA snorkel from me. No problem so I tried a few options and obtained a few quotes. We then settled (not the cheapest....!) the services of Absolute Logistics, in Boksburg, who offered door to door service from Jhb to Namibia

From collection (not arranged from the Boksburg branch) they just pitched up at my door, they would collect the snorkel and deliver to the client.

The day after their agreed delivery date, the Member was contacted and told the snorkel was left behind at a branch 80km from the agreed destination......he was told to collect him himself.......

After a couple of mails sent to the HQ in Windhoek and Jhb, with no - to, little response, I escalated and finally got word that the Manager??? Contacted the client advising him (the client) to follow up himself.....

Finally the SFA snorkel arrived, unharmed

Will I use Absolute Logistics again.......?

................Abserlutely NOT!!!

Eish! What ever happened to 'Commitment to service' like we used to have. Cannot understand it, it takes a lifetime to build up a good name and one such stupid bungle to ruin it!
Sad to hear Mark, but at least it never went missing like Trevor's camera from Cassie! :(

What annoys me about the whole issue not mentioned in my original post was their lack to respond to my query......nothing, ABSOLUTELY nothing! Then the attetude of the Namibian branch was beyond me. That they are still in buisiness is 'absolutely' amazing...... :o:

If the attetude was good, I would still be able to toletate it somewhat!

Mark ek kon jou gese het om hulle nie te gebruik het nie. Alles wat ek nou stuur of ontvang is met DHL, bietjie duurder maar jy kry jou goed op tyd.

what a nightmare!

the competence level of these people are that of a bird without wings. My next step was to take legal action.
If you pay for door to door service you should get just that not "town to town" exceptions.

I thank Mark for his perseverance and his professionalism. Perfectly handled i think.

Maby we should e-mail them this link  :laugh2:

what an absolute disaster!

Bruno, I am (I must say....) happy and even more so relieved you received your package!

Thanks once again for putting your trust in us, I understand it was not easy having purchased blind over the IN!

This issue is not limited to these okes. I have had two issues with two different companies in 3 weeks. First my diff sent from JHB arrived looking like it had beed used in soccer world cup which resulted in a broken diff lock indicator switch. R1300 for this item loose. So I made a claim they politely informed me it was not their fault and would not indulge the claim. So I flipped them something and moved my business. I got an engine sent last week from Jetpark in was collected last week Friday and arrived on Tuesday. It then sat in their depot until Friday. And this is costing R1400+! When asked why it had not been delivered I was told it was not company policy to deliver cod door to door. BUT just the day before they delivered another cod parcel to my door. When i asked the manager he said he was doing me a favour by doing this. I told him what he could do with his favour and instead have done him one by referring this to the MD so still waiting as this was friday afternoon....

We switched to Time Freight a while ago, so far very happy bar one mistake that they made charging us R1100 for a 23.5kg parcel from Jhb to Klerkies... but they are sorting that out, was a mistake on their side with a misplaced decimal point.
