WEST RAND DIESEL & AUTO ELECTRICAL (BOSCH)

As you all know I bought my Surf earlier this year. Well it has been with WEST RAND DIESEL & AUTO ELECTRICAL in Chamdor since late March. Problem was it just died and wouldn’t start. I was told that it was the diesel pump and was quoted R8500 to have a mechanical pump installed and was promised the moon and the stars. Victor Germanus promised me that it would work with my AUTO box. Accepted the quote and he did the job only to find out it didn’t work with the AUTO box. They then repaired the old pump (which I found out now was not the problem) and re-fitted it on the 9th of May. Now 2 weeks later after them struggling to get it to start we are back to square 1. Same problem as before… I have even sent them all the wiring diagrams for the 2l-Te including the ECU diagram. Not that that bothers me. What bothers me is the fact that it is almost 2 months later and I have spent R8500 and am still sitting with the same problem… I will probably have to pay someone else who actually knows what they are doing to have it fixed… :aggresive:  NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO ANY BOSCH SERVICE CENTRE UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE PROBLEMS LIKE THIS… :aggresive:

I wouldn't go so far by sayng, don't buy at any Bosch outlet...... Just my 2cw. Its like buying a vrot banana at Pick n Pay in Zambia, and saying you would never buy at Pick n Pay again.

And no, I don't have a family member working at Diesel and Electric....

After all the hasle, and finaly getting the car returned to us to have it fixed somewhere else, as the guy at this Service centre didn't want to work on it any longer, this Service Centre has also not given us all our parts back...probably threw it away!!

And as for any Bosch Service Centre, I will not take my chances, just go and have a look at what other people have to say as well:

Ouch that's a cr@ppy one! Surely you shouldn't have paid the R8500, simply because, on their professional advise you did the manual pump conversion, which didn't work! There advise was incorrect! They should be held liable and carry the costs!

I'd consult the Consumer Protection Council!

They dropped off the money, and the Surf yesterday. When Alien got home he saw half of the parts were missing.

They innitially did not want to refund their mistake, but after laying a complaint with Bosch SA and notifying them of this post on the forum they were suddenly happy to give the refund. :eh: Which doesn't help much if they dont give us all our parts back.

Personally I would be dealing with the main peanut at Bosch SA - let him chase these plonkers around, after all, the Bosch name is now associated to poor service.

As for the missing parts, if they cannot find them I would insist they replace them...

I am still waiting for my parts. All they could find so far was a small filter on a boost pipe… That wont help me much… No reply to my e-mail.

I was asked to retract my complaint with Bosch SA (Which I did) and have this post removed which I have not until I received all the parts. I am not unfair but this is ridiculous. Not only did I wait 2 months for my car but now I have to wait for my parts??? I was planning on putting my car back together again this weekend but now I can’t. We (my wife and I) are struggling to get around with only the one car but I must accept this. I am sorry but not me. This is not a complaint against Bosch SA but against West Rand Diesel & Auto Electrical which unfortunately is a Bosch service center. I have now contacted the Consumer Complaints Commission as well as logged a new complaint with Bosch SA and I will not retract them. Fool me once shame on you but fool me twice same on me.
