Hi Guys,
I am the current distributor for an Auto Activated Door Lock Module.
This allows your vehicle doors to lock automatically when taking off. There is also some other nifty functions (intelligent re-lock)
It will work on any Hilux/Fortuner which do not have this facility avaialable.
It is a simple DIY install, and is independant of the OE electronics.
I currently have one installed in my Hilux and works quite well.
Please see the attached information leaflet for detail and price.
You can also PM me for any further information.
The price is R799 (incl free delivery anywhere in South Africa).

What activates the auto-lock on pull-off? A tremble switch? Could present a problem if the vehicle is standing and idling while setting up a carb and the vehicle rocks for some or other reason - it will lock you out. :eh:

No remotes included? :eh:
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Hi Mud Dog,
Thanks for your query.
The module locks the vehicle at ~5km/h. It gets input from the speed sensor and an on board inertia sensor.
So, no need for bulky remotes, and definitely no chance of unwanted locking.

Hi Woerman,
I hope you are well.
The module advertised is only for the hilux/fortuner.
If you PM me your mail addy, and vehicle spec, I can source one applicable for your vehicle..
One thing I forgot to mention on the initial post was the module is very small, and fits unseen.

Hi there,
Yes you are correct. It performs the same function. However post August 2012 Hiluxes/Fortuners do not have this function. The reason for this is some sort of European regulation. Prior to this, the van could be set at the dealer or there was a field fix. Not available any more though.

Can you get one for the Toyota Aygo? I would love to have one in the Aygo.
Aygo will be the same a Peugeot 107 or Citroen C1

My Hilux is unfortunately too old for something like that.

Can it work with only the signal from the electronic speed sensor ?
If so us lexus SFA owners might have a nice add on once we fit central locking to our trucks as the lexus still uses the electronic speed sensor

Next concern. Can the auto-lock function not be overidden? When one negotiated water crossings or other hazardous obstacles it's often preferable to have the doors unlocked in the event of a need to escape from the vehicle.

Not trying to knock your product, just thinking 'out loud'. ;-)

Hi Mud Dog,
Not a problem. Its good to get questions. I cannot expect someone to part with their hard earned cash, without completely understanding the product. I try to put in as much information, but there is always something that you dont think the customer will be interested in.
So, back to your question, if you have a Hilux, I doubt there are any situations you will need to escape from. It will always carry you through. :)..Just kidding.
Seriously though, there is an option to overide this function from inside the vehicle.

Hope this clarifies your concern ;).

@ GrootSeun/Piet
Thank you for the query guys.
I made this query last night to the Japanese manufacturer.
My contact replied saying that it is possible, but there is some re-programming to be done. They will be offering a 'one size fits all' version in about a months time. This will work on any vehicle (any make, year, etc). If you are interested, I can reserve some of my initial batch.

Hey guys, I took the chance and ordered this module. I can vouch that it works perfect on my 2.5 L Fortuner. I must admit that I was a bit worried that it was just a scam or something, but it most certainly isnt. Thanks Nippon electronics, this puts a 2 year long search to an end!

So would a 2010 Vigo have this function?
