Re: Bulldog gets New Clothes!
Ok Ok Ok oK.... was it you who waved from the white Polo? Jantjie (at work) also drives a white Polo, but i knew it wasn't him! I tried waving back but was too late and the windows were closed - unlike all the other 7MGE owners here, I actually have an air-conditioner that works!
Yep - I phoned them and started to cry and then they finally relented and said I can have him back! :D :D :D :D But he was DIRTY!! They offered to wash him if I left him there.... NO BLOODY CHANCE!!!
I was on the way to the Sticker place to have new stickers made (Bulldog sticker & the T O Y O T A ) ones. I will post photos later!

Winter in the Cape now, dont need air-con... Can't open a window anyway, you'll get 2 squirrels and 4 birds blown into your face by the wind..Family_BullDog wrote:unlike all the other 7MGE owners here, I actually have an air-conditioner that works!

Yip, was me who waved from the Polo.
Pity I was in such a hurry. I wanted to turn around and inspect Bulldog.

Re: Bulldog gets New Clothes!
My aching back....
Here are the pics:
I see I am going to have a new number plate made, one of those smaller square ones.
I don't know what the black triangular removable thingy is for... maybe to fit another number plate?
All in all, it's a very well made bumper and the only thing I can fault it with is that the panel holding the number plate on is only held on by pop-rivets. I wasnt to make a better plane there, can't see it staying there very long with the vibration it will have when driving.
Recommended!
And before you all rush out to buy one, remember there are two different types - one for the import load bin and one for the local bin, which has to incorporate the tails lights of the bakkie.
I still have to fit the Hilux forum stickers, but I need to make new ones, the ones I have are too big and will not fit below the canopy window where I want to fit them

Re: Bulldog gets New Clothes!
I see I have not yet posted a picture of Bulldog's drawers... (No, no, not that kind. Calm down Varkie...).
The Outback Drawer System is a most useful piece of equipment and very well made. The Engel fridge fits onto the roller slide on the right side. I was able to buy four plastic containers for each drawer at the local Hyper, works very well!

Eric, you know those drawers are actually supposed to be on the back of Oupa
Let me know when I can go to collect them
I need it more than you do, to pack nappies and stuff for my daughter whom is almost here

Re: Bulldog gets New Clothes!
Riaan,
If I never already had Bulldog, I would have then had "Oupa", who would then have been made up to look exactly like Bulldog ;)
Count your blessings
I must admit the drawers were made for Oupa's bin, which is slightly larger than Bulldog's, but the difference is very slight.

Re: Bulldog gets New Clothes!
Well, Tommy has sold his shares in the business. JP Taute is the new owner. Had some minor work done on both White Fang (covered two holes on top of tailgate lip where the catch for the old canopy was mounted) and had a new windscreen fitted to Hound Dog (old one was chipped) as well as mild rust sorted out under the windscreen rubber.
JP is situated in Orkney, name of the business is "TJ Custom Paint Work".
Here are some before & after pics of Hot Dog and Bull Dog after their new clothes:

Re: Bulldog gets New Clothes!
Neil, I sold Hot Dog when I bought Hound Dog. This is my 'work bakkie" and it has a bigger engine (2700cc compared to 2000cc of Hot Dog) as well as an A/C and 4 WD. But oh, how I miss Hot Dog - I was foolish to sell her. But I do enjoy Hound Dog, apart from some niggly problems when I got him, biggest puzzle was the fact that it was fitted with two different diff ratios - front & back!

Bulldog needs a nice workout but there is nothing close by, other than Eland Safari Park which is very handy as it is only some 8km from where I live.

Will need to make a plan, as long as the places are not too far from my home base. Wish we had more scenic routes here, must admit I am just not lus to fight my way on crappy, potholed tar roads.
